Who and why? Choose the team in the poll, specify your driver and explain why. Just a bit of a get together before Mercedes dash our hopes
I would like to see Williams win a few though I'm not convinced on their driver line up. It doesn't feel like a championship winning pair.
I'll be rooting for the McLaren Honda. They are one of the few teams who have the resource, effort, and setup to challenge the Merc Works team. Button I think deserves another go in a fast car and Alonso has won my respect for the way he drive that ****heap of a Ferrari around. They'll do for me. Would like to see Williams win a race as customers they will struggle to win the Championship I think. I agree with Bando that their driver pairing is not the strongest either.
The problem with the poll is that you can't vote for teams or drivers separately. So whereas I do follow Hamilton (I stuck with him through thin so I'm happy to do so through thick!) I'm not Rosberg's biggest fan, not just because he is Ham's rival but because I have never really warmed to him and thought he was very snidey at times last year. But I also would love to see Williams do well again, I respect the hell out of Alonso and its always so exciting to see him grab a car by the scruff of the neck. So my loyalties are partly to certain drivers and certain teams rather than a whole team/pair of drivers package.
Although I voted for McL I would like to see Williams win a few. McL: I don't like Ron D but I like the determination the team shows and I am looking forward to see if Honda can create a great engine. I like Button, OK so he is not good at driving round problems but when he is happy with the car he is good. Alonso, although he is amazing at the performance he can get out of a dog of a car I am not keen on his personality. Don#t know how true it was but threatening to blackmai your team to get what you want doesn't endear hm to me. Williams: I like seeing Massa being free and stretching his legs although he is a bit 'it's not me it was the other driver' a bit too often. Botas I do like hopefully he is maturing and increasing his speed.
I agree with all of this but I'd add Hulk and also that I'd like to see Lotus back in the game, especially the most underrated driver on the grid, Pastor Maldonado. Likewise, I really hope Sauber can make something of a comeback but their driver line-up is not the most confidence-inspiring; hope I'm wrong. I like Ricciardo too but dislike his team quite intensely. Have I missed anyone?
I missed out Ricciardo! But agree, love Ric but hate Red Bull, so the nature of the poll doesn't really reflect those distinctions.
As a loyal fan to a driver, I will root for Hamilton again for the WDC. As an F1 fan, I would love to see Williams winning again and hope that Merc do get challenged regularly by any ream.
Drivers: Hamilton and Ricciardo Teams: Williams and Ferrari (so long as they're not self destructing) while keeping a sly eye on Macca.
Likes: Alonso Button Ricciardo McLaren Williams Dislikes: Red Bull Horner I have a feeling that sometime during the season, Horner is going to cry foul against McLaren. I don't know if it will be technology related, strategy related, a driver incident or whatever. I just have a feeling that he'll take issue with something, have a bit of a tantrum, but get nowhere.
Teams: Williams Lotus Drivers: Alonso Nasr Hulk will be happy if Grosjean proves himself this year too
Well I always had him down as a bit of a perv. He is the founder of kinkylatexdonkeybuggery.com after all.
I tried to stop supporting other drivers or being a fan other than Vettel as I strangely feel I curse them, Hulkenberg at the start of his career got replaced, Perez lost his mclaren seat, Magnussen got sacked, Kamui and Paul di Resta (he beat seb in F3 you know) are no longer in f1 and kubica will never enter f1 again. So you can see why I try to avoid other drivers. But after all the bad luck seb had in 2014 I thought I would pass it round a bit more On ferrari: It's nostalgic reasons for me 'supporting' Ferrari this season. The call of the German anthem followed by the Italian will always be close to my childhood days. It strikes fear into the people who have watched F1 as long as I have as it has meaning behind it and I desperately wish to hear it again ever since 2008 Monza. With Vettel's poor 2014 season I would love nothing more than Seb to regain his place as the top driver in F1, even though that's not what his vocal detractors would want who I'm sure are gleefully enjoying his struggles . I think seb has his work cut out for him as I count at least 6-7 drivers better than him in this era if he is still as lacklustre from 2014, he will have to knuckle down to find something that works for him and fast, but if anyone can make a major comeback he can I say. **Just so everyone knows** I didn't mind Ferrari post-schumi (07-10) until all the **** slinging and mind games from a certain driver/samurai/matador wannabe, started to happen on a monthly basis from 2011 onward. This with 'The' Ferrari pathetically being his media punch bag and so being the *only* reason why the car was poor was getting boring very quickly for those that didn't worship him as the best driver on the grid... As a side note and *to make sure I'm clear on where I stand with Ferrari*, flag gate at the end of 2012 permenantly sealed their fate with me with their constant bitching about everything vettel did on track. They were trying to get him punished for *anything* and I mean anything by scanning frame by frame on any footage of vettel on track. Then you would see them slap it all over the internet calling him a dirty cheat, and then try to pressure the FIA or media for further sanctions after qualifying or race against seb or RBR. That was the job of the majority of the tifosi for the last few seasons. I'll probably never forgive that little episodes the tifosi and Ferrari tried to pull, as you can clearly tell I'm still pretty bitter about it with them actually trying to get a WDC in the FIA court by having Seb grid penalised? Sorry that won't be forgotten, Seb might forgive, only because half of that team got fired... Vettel at Ferrari is nice, but I'll never share a victory drink with 'them' when it happens, plus don't expect me to buy any Ferrari gear any time soon I'll only wipe my arse with it. Other than that I hope Mercedes cream the Italian reds again and for Bottas and Sainz to do well and now Marussia to finish ahead of Force India. ...And yes I'm the founder of kinkylatexdonkeybuggery.com and no I'm not sick of 50 shades of grey as its a trilogy don't you know? We still have 50 shades darker and 50 shades freed to deal with at Mercedes yet.
