I know far more folk who have not renewed their SJP passes than I have come across new pass buyers. They have a terrific following but a slowly reducing core support. I think Sunderland are going the same way.
500 people singing make more noise than 2,500 sat like dummies. Arsenal are well supported home and away.the second best supported team at home. But thatbdoesn't equate to noise.
Like we out sang them at Sid James Park. Its what away fans do mostly. I was ashamed of our support yesterday, loads of moaning from the very first kick. Near me, E6, fans who usually sit in silence, until we misplace a pass, were screaming 'Get if forward' when we were patiently building from the back. Idiots. and these are the first to leave. At 3-0 the rush for exists was shameful. And those flags? What a waste of money.
If they reversed the "evictions" would the acoustics alter again meaning away fans in theNorth Stand were again outsinging the E1-3 sections due to poor acoustics?
Let's hope any potential transfer targets weren't watching the TV highlights which showed the exodus over the bridge.
Of course not, but the money wasted on the evictions could have been put to much better use to help the atmosphere without costing us the loss of many hard core fans and still having a poor atmosphere.
Said before, the noisy ones ( CTWD with the flags ) have been put in the naughty corner out of sight out of mind, off screen when shown on the telly. Visiting fans have the prime location and singing towards the camera come across louder. Now i know there were suggestions from our fans to move into the north end but i am sure they were proposing to take all of it not just the bit towards the west stand. At the end of the day Mr Allam has shafted you.
Beginning of the season up to the Burnley away game I thought the atmosphere was much better, yesterday compared to the Everton game was a complete contrast, I now think fans are going to games still hoping to win but expecting to lose and it's not surprising. I am sure if in these next two home games we actually manage to win I am positive the atmosphere will completely change but for that to happen we need the team to lead the way and then the noise in the stadium will raise I am sure. Yesterday I was still shouting but must admit everyone around me was very frustrated and quiet even I give up at 2.0. One of our biggest problems is if the other team score we can't win. For the amount of home wins we have seen this season in all honesty what do people expect. perhaps a rallying call is needed and players and fans should treat the next two home games has cup finals
The clip of the fans wasn't good, that was down to the editor. A similar clip could have been taken at any other ground in the country where the home side were getting turned over 3 nowt.
Ring them up, tell Gollom he's a **** & ask him if he knows how busy the walkway was 10 minutes from the end of the Liver Birds last game against the Robins. Then tell him he's a **** again, in case he missed it first time.
So, why, when we had this prime location, did the away fans still make more noise? Noise and atmosphere is down to fans singing and chanting. There are stadiums in Europe with no roofs at all which make a deafening racket.
Its quite simple really. We expect to see effort and passion from the players, when we see that, we cheer, clap, sing and there is a good atmosphere in the stadium. When we see precious little effort from players its hard to show appreciation. Almost everyone of those players yesterday earn more in a week than I do in a year, and yet they cant give 100% for 90minutes of football? Im not asking for them to have brilliant games every week, but there's nothing stopping them from showing a bit of grit and determination. Yes we're on a bad run, yes nothing seems to be going for us, but I guarantee the supporters would get behind the team if they saw some bloody heart & desire.
Here is a similar sized stadium to ours with no roof. They manage to create an atmosphere. And all this before the team have done anything to make them applaud. And not one person choked to death, had an asthma attack or was burnt alive. And the fans of the other club in the city would cause our health and safety brigade to collapse yet even inside no harm comes to anyone. Could you imagine scenes like this in Hull? No one is demanding people sit down or on about the danger.Worth watching to see what happens when they score.
Some visiting fans did of course like newcastle and sunderland but not all. And as many have said away fans generaly make more noise than the home support, including our travelling support ( ironicaly at Newcastle and Sunderland ) The biggest motivator of the fans is the performance on the pitch not their position in the ground.
Yes the Newcastle game was rubbish. Yes we are not performing very well. Yes we are cheesed off regarding the name change issue. But why are a number of our fans so negative and miserable? We are in the top flight of English football for goodness sake. We are no longer losing by three goals at home to the likes of Shrewsbury in the bottom division. For all its greed, we should still feel lucky that we are one of the twenty elite clubs participating in the most watched and powerful league in world sport. Previous generations would have given anything to see Hull City in the top division. People like my Grandfather who died after religiously watching Hull City for over 70 years in the lower leagues , without ever seeing top flight football. There are so called fans on here, and the particularly awful City Independent, who wish we were back in the Championship. What hogwash that is. The Championship is a gruelling slog, littered with far to many night games and poor football. We would lose our prestige and national and international exposure. I would even suggest relegation would again set us upon another path of decades long decline that we may this time not recover from. But I guess some "fans", with their uniquely Hull negative attitude, would be happy to slide into real mediocrity again. They feel uncomfortable with the international exposure their Club and City is getting, and just want to return to underachieving Hull City. It particularly annoys me that a lot of these people calling for us to be relegated no longer go to games. They are horrible, spiteful people. They want Hull City to feel the same failures that they feel in their lives. A true supporter always wants their club to play at the highest possible level. Those wishing us to fail are not supporters. Aren't there enough spiteful people in this area who want us to fail without some of our so called supporters turning against our Club? Remember those constantly moaning and carping, and those who believe we would we be better off at a lower level, are bang out of order. You are an insult to previous generations of Hull City AFC supporters who yearned for top flight football more than anything. I will still carry on supporting the club I love regardless of which division we are in. How many of these cynics can say the same. Don't let the cynics win. Get behind our club and roar them to a Premier League future.
