Hmmm I'm sure we just beat City (title holders) 2-0 a few weeks ago. But hey let's not let a hard fact get in the way of your ignorance. As you were glory hole hunter.
Like if you appointed Van Gaal instead of Moyes maybe you'd be in Europe this season. Ifs and butts indeed.
Giroud has cleeeeaaarly improved this Season. Happy to see Walcott in amongst the goals again. The guys goals per game over the last three Seasons is very impressive for a wide player. Its a massive bonus having him back in the side. Suddenly our attacking options are looking very strong indeed.
And somehow Swansea beat Saints somehow, but its doubly good for me as Arsenal are joint 4th and a Welsh team won!
I think Giroud is revelling in the fact that 1. he hasn't been played into the ground, because we've got options upfront now, and 2. he has runners going beyond him and movement around him, so he has more room and laying off the ball/link up play is easier
If Moyes got Champions League football this season and maybe he might be sitting top of the league all ifs and buts lol
Great result and good to see Arsenal play the football they are capable of. Also good to see Ozil play well and have most of our team back. Even without our best player we looked strong on paper and on the field. We are shaping into a team to be feared again!
We have a huge (but welcomed) problem now. In terms of our attack, we could field an 11 a side team. This wouldn't be an issue if we were fielding mainly academy players slowly into the first team but we have way too many players fighting for the same spot. Something has to give eventually. With players like Akpom, Bellerin Gnarby, Zelalem and Dan Crowley coming through, players like Wilshere, Wellbeck and possibly Oxlade Chamberlin may soon become surplus to requirements. First 11:Ospina; Debuchy, Mert, Kos, Gibbs; Coq, Ramsey; Özil, Carzola, Sanchez, Giroud.
Id have Walcott in our best 11, I think his pace, movement and goal threat are invaluable when he's on top form - even though that is really harsh one of Ozil or Cazorla. Still it's prob not a problem Wenger will have for long as knowing us we'll have an injury crisis soon...
Watched the game today in a bar in Tashkent Uzbekistan, ironically it was a ****ing Chelsea supported bar. But a very good and solid performance.
Hard to pick between Ozil and Carzorla. Interested to see Sanchez--Giroud--Walcott get a good run because that front three is going to get a lot of goals. Hang on what?.. You are in Uzbekistan?
Forgive my ignorance but have we played 4-2-1-3 at all this season. I'd like to see a combination like that with: Ospina Bellerin Mert Kos Gibbs Coq Ramsey Ozil Walcott Giroud Sanchez I couldn't see us playing this formation away from home against stronger teams, Özil would get bullied in the middle but he's apparently been getting stronger so maybe not. With Giroud holding up the ball for Özil and Walcott and Sanchez darting from the wings, it's a perfect set up for counter attacking.
But we could easily play them in the 4-2-3-1 weve played sometimes this season, like today. Would be very interesting to see, especially if walcott keeps switching position like he did today
I'm looking forward to us playing 4141 with Walcott--ozil--Cazorla--Sanchez -----------------giroud--------------- Though I wouldn't go with that against anyone too good going forward as it's a very attacking line up!
That's pretty unlikely. The Box to Box role is pretty important to the side. Ramsey for example tackles, closes down, makes interceptions and scores goals/makes assists. Ozil and Carzorla would get bullied. It could work against certain sides though.
OXO has stepped his game up this season, still needs to improve, but he has been much better than last season.
