Bad day at the office for both our teams yesterday, glad Jan is behind us now, hope that was our "Blip".
I still think there is one slightly larger blip to come your way, but will still finish top 6. As for us - who knows? I am nowhere near confident yet, and need to see what the new gaffer can do, once he knows the players a little better. Time is running out though, but a top 8 place should be the minimum now.
I don't think that yesterday was a bad result. If you look at Brum's position in the current form tables. They are 6th after the home draw. I just checked the BCFC site.In the last three months they have played 13 league games and lost to only Derby and Blackpool.
The reason I'm starting to lose faith in even making the play offs is that we have had so many opportunities to capitalise on the dropped points of other teams yet, since we topped the table, we have failed to take a single one. That's on the plays for me. Every time we've got in touching distance of the top or the playoffs, we have put on a completely awful performance. Do the players get too nervous? Do they just not care? I dunno, but it's hard to be positive when the team has consistently failed to make the most of games this season. We should, SHOULD, still be making the play offs but really I'm starting to lose that belief.
There is always one team that comes out of nowhere to grab the last play off place and they seem to be the one that goes on to win promotion. It has happened so many times in this crazy division so it is way too early to be giving up hope! I agree that you are doing things the hard way by not capitalising on other results going your way but in this league anyone can beat anyone and it is the teams that are the most consistent in picking up points that will make it. You just have to find that consistency through your play and as there is still a lot of games to play there is plenty of twists and turns to come.
I take you point and I still think we can do it. It's just happened so many times this season that I can fully understand why people are getting dispirited. Having +16 GD shows we can turn teams over pretty easily at times. The issue is too often we let a draw turn into a loss. I guess you could say the Brum game was good in that respect but we do need to be turning on the style quickly and start leaving a few teams in our dust in games. I thought that would happen after the Millwall and Huddersfield games but then you have the Reading match, Adams gets the heave ho and we're starting again. I like this Neil, he has that single minded drive to succeed, something I think we've been missing. More and more I just feel like the players aren't up for it.
I tend to agree and some of them seem to have lost their desire to fight tooth and nail when they wear yellow and green. They should have been made to watch the video of the U21 game on Tuesday!!!
After todays pasting from Arsenal I could see Lambert getting fired in the next few months. If we don't go up I would love to see him back at Carrow Rd.
I think thats a bit harsh on Alex Neil, inherited a team half way through a season, to sack him if we don't get promoted.... Surely we should back our manager and let him put his stamp on the team and see how it goes.
Too eager to sack full stop. Not just us but all clubs. Just waiting to see Hull fire Bruce, that would be madness. And what chance Slade going the season at Cardiff? They all seem to want him out.
We're still work in progress, if we can put a run together then we might have an outside chance, there is usually a team which comes from nowhere contending for one of those top six spots. A clean sheet is one positive but when we seem to address one problem another crops up.
I'm sorry if this offends anyone, but I just do not understand this "we might have an outside chance of top six" talk, I really don't. Birmingham have an outside chance, like the Wendys and Blackburn, but we definitely have a much better chance than that. If we don't make top six this season from the position we are currently in then it will be a massive disappointment and Alex Neil will have failed. Fortunately I don't foresee that happening and I honestly cannot see is finishing below fifth place, particularly once we have Howson back in the side.
You've obviously been too busy buffing the banana over the league table to peruse the fixtures list for March, HB10..
I wouldn't have a problem atva Not at all my feathered friend, March on paper looks our hardest month of the season, as I stated on our forum earlier this week!
