When he first joined I noticed that his choice of language was quite specific and it always seemed like he wanted to make it clear that he was not QPR and that he's in there to do a job but not be part of the club entirely. I'm not stating that as fact but that's just the vibe I got from him.
In his book he is clear that management is work. Lose one go to another. It is a job. No loyalties in football at any level. He grew up as an arsenal fan but would happily beat them every time. It is work. I think he does want to win though whether with Rangers or not.

....you can substitute almost any club's name in that highlighted bit. Name another club where the manager is there not just to do a job and is there for other reasons as well. Bet you'd be hard pushed. It's just a job to all of them, the way to earn a very good living. There is no loyalty. Just like you or I, they'd be off to pastures new if the right job offer came along. Don't expect them to behave like fans!
