OK, there's obviously Borg. But what about..?

Stig Blomqvist - Swedish rally driver
Won the World Rally Championship drivers' title in 1984.
Finished runner-up in 1985.
Won his home event, the Swedish Rally, seven times.
Won the British Rally Championship in 1983 and the Swedish Rally Championship several times.
At the Race of Champions, took the title "Champion of Champions" in 1989 and 1990.
So, not just very good, but the definitely the best in the world for several years.

Stefan Edberg - Swedish tennis player
Six Grand Slams.
ITF World Champion in 1991.
ATP Player of the Year in 1990 and 1991.
Appeared in a then record 54 consecutive Grand Slam tournaments.
Olympic gold medal for Men's Singles.
Played on seven Swedish Davis Cup winning teams in 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988, and 1994.
Appeared in seven Davis Cup finals—a record for a Swedish player.
World Number One for 72 weeks across 26 months.

Ibrahimovic?
Tenth in the list of most capped Swedes.
Not in the top three of the Ballon d'Or since its inception.
Never in top three in FIFA World Player of the Year.
Never been European Player of the Year.

Think on, Zlatan, me old china. <doh>

After Sweden failed to qualify for the World Cup he also said “One thing is for sure, a World Cup without me is nothing to watch so it is not worthwhile to wait for the World Cup.”

Ridley Scott has cast an 11 year old boy to play the part of God in his new film. Zlatan has asked for the film to not be released. He said "that kid looks nothing like me"

Growing up, I remembered seeing Ingemar Stenmark, who used to ski in a bobble hat until helmets were compulsory and seemed to win most of the slalom events. Unfortunately, he didn't get the credit he deserved as in the "glamour" category, downhill, the focus was on Muller v Klammer.

Have to admit to giving grudging admiration for the way Andy Murray is playing in the Australian Open - especially after his time out last year for an operation

Don't think he will win overall though.

But still a positive start to the year and Federer isn't great now whilst Nadal will [probably be injured once the French Open is over..

He played a good final - but i think the strength of Djokovic finally got the better of him. Certainly no shame in his play overall in this tournament -hope he can now help GB to a Davis cup win over the US in March

That part of the U.S. does rather resemble England.

I know - I was just joking as I do not have any preference between the two sides so wanted to invent a reason to choose one :)
