Jason Mohammed has just described the penalty as "obvious" on Final Score, it looked highly dubious to me. Yes Craig Cathcart had his arm out but the Bournemouth player does look like he has been to the Anthony Knockaert Diving School.

So Lee Probert made one real howler of an error with Gabrielle Angella and then was duped by Callum Wilson

I was really looking forward to last nights game and as many of you have said it was completely spoilt by the sending off.

For me, if the Bournemouth player had not released the ball before Angella's tackle, he would have taken the ball. Unless it took a deflection off Angella (then is it a foul??) the ball was heading out of play for a goal kick, so how was a goal scoring opportunity denied?

In the tunnel Watford looked focussed and up for it and were positive from the kick off and obviously had some sort of game plan which went up in a puff of smoke, Bournemouth looked a little nervos.

Yes we lost, and may even have done with 11 on the pitch, but for me the team put in an immense shift against a high scoring team who only scored 1 proper goal, which if it had hit our defenders legs would have gone for a corner. Deeney, Ighalo and Anya ran themselves ragged and I am sure most of the others did as well so a great positive here.

Here's hoping they are really angry and produce some more consistent performances from now on.

    Feeling sore.

Sadly the game was ruined for everyone in the first minute who wanted a good game of football and I can't see Mike Riley's band of merry referees reimbursing the 1,300 Watford supporters who paid for a ticket and took the time and effort to travel to Bournemouth on a Friday night even when the game was on television.

What really annoys me is that no matter what time is on the clock if you are going to produce a red card you have to be certain that you have the correct decision. In this instances there were three immediate factors that he had to look at; 1. Was it a foul? (correct) 2. Would the player have reached the ball to enable a goal scoring opportunity? (wrong) 3. Was there a defender who could have intervened and prevented a goal scoring opportunity? (wrong)

He has got two out of the three wrong has seemingly not consulted his linesman (who didn't even bother to flag) and sent someone off. As I don't believe any professional referee would cheat this leaves the unfortunate summation that he was certain that he got the decision right which points to one sad fact; Staggering incompetence.

Should be ok with that surely...even the ref seemed a bit uncertain at the time until all the home players rushed to him telling what they thought (as all teams do..)

That's Eddie Howe for you! Nice to your face - nasty behind your back.

Hopefully he will enjoy humiliation next year if they do go up.........they have to cope with the pressure yet though.

Went to the game and just back from a weekend down in bournemouth.

Sending off looked a ridiculous decision at the time and does after watching it on the football league show. Totally changed the match and the ref has to be 100% sure he was denying a goal scoring opportunity, and surely in discussion with the lino, it obviously wasn't. As for that lino... Felt like he was poor all game (for both sides)

As for the penalty, I thought it was a penalty but he certainly played for the contact... As Wilson does. Not long before that he played for a penalty by just throwing himself to the ground. Also thought their player was lucky not to see a red with a studs up challenge, which only a couple of weeks before a Norwich player saw red for something not too dissimilar... But would have had no argument if Pudil had gone after seeing his challenge again on tv. Didnt have a clear view of the 'handball' and not seen a replay

Credit to the team and Joka after going down to 10 we were still the better team for much of the first half but then Had to start sitting back and were tiring. Fair play to Joka not taking off an attacking player when Angella got sent off, but felt we were caught out in the wings a lot. Especially when Anya was moved to the right. He'd be caught upfield so the CB would have to shift right, then Pudil would have to cover the other CB position so thought we were caught out on the RW a lot...

Such a shame a wrong decision ruined what could have been a fantastic game... but well done to the fans. Was a great atmosphere and hardly heard the Bournemouth fans until their first goal, then second!

well done on raising the point of not making a sub once we had gone behind then we needed the attack to try and get back into the game

Finally plucked up the courage to watch the highlights. What was the Lino doing? He had the best view of the covering defender and the fact that the attacking played was never going to get the ball. What is the fricking point of these, so called, assistant referee's? What is the point of any of the officials? I knew I shouldn't have watched it!!!

But if they keep sending off our players needlessly, our chance of going up diminish.

Am so cranky over this - something needs to change as we lost points for no reason at all. Overturning the red is all very well, but....<grr>
