Charlie Adam would definitely do a job for us and I don't think he's getting much game time at Stoke.

Might be wrong with the game time at Stoke thing mind.

Instead of spunking 8 million or whatever it was on Livermore we should have bid half of that for Jedinak.

    Hindsight and all that.

I thought Livermore and Huddlestone were two of our better players today, for some reason everyone is desperate to blame Huddlestone constantly, he pinged a 70 yard crossfield pass today inch perfect to Ramirez absolutely unbelievable and I found myself the only person clapping. There's a huge witch hunt at the KC for Huddlestone.

Maybe if we played with proper wingers, not Meyler who's **** and Ramirez who isn't a winger it would help the midfield.

No, I agree with him. There does seem to be a witchunt against those two. Neither of them had great games but anyone who says they weren't trying today can't have been watching the game with an open mind.
I can understand that people feel they are under performing, especially with the price tags and expectation but there were plenty of others out there today who have to shoulder as much if not more of the blame.

I remember the incident too where Thudd played a beautiful ball to Ramirez, who just turned back, was immediately tackled and lost the ball.

I think we need to try something different in order to get the best out of what we have available and maybe 4-3-1-2 might do that.

    McGregor
    Elmo Dawson Davies Robertson/Brady
    Livermore Huddlestone Quinn
    Ramirez/Aluko
    Jelavic Hernandez

Because hopefully playing 3 in centre midfield will allow us to control the game from there. The full backs can push on when we have possession and give some width, whilst we can have an advanced attacking midfielder playing behind the front two who can run at the opposition defence or look to thread passes through for the front two.
The thing we are missing most is the creativity in front of opposing defences.
Just a thought but most of the systems that we've tried so far have failed pretty abjectly.

Shearer has just ripped into them on Match of the Day which will only convince more of our fans to get on their backs rather than support.

That was horrific viewing, Huddlestone was sauntering about like a 60 year old bloke having a kick about with the grandkids.

    Lazy ****.

If we don't sort out this central midfield we've got no chance, teams are just waltzing past us like we aren't there.

Let's hope that Phelan can bring some fresh eyes and ideas to the whole set up.

Hopefully, he'll have seen enough from the stand today already and once he's seen them in training for a few days, will have some thoughts about what needs to be done.

we don't need Lennon, I dont think, we need a decent central midfield who can create something going forward and track back. Huddlestone is doing neither, he finds the odd pass but doesn't bring himself into the game enough for me! we have too many wingers in the team and they aren'y getting used, so what the f**k will Lennon bring to us. Elmo, Aluko,Ince,Robertson, are all wingers in my eyes, it's not what we need!! we need a central midfielder who will bust a gut, maybe looking in the championship might not be a bad idea! I'll be glad when Diame comes back, I would put him straight in for Muddlestone (not a typo)and buld the midfield around him.

Forget Lennon, not what we need at all!!

Shearer had a go at Huddlestone on MOTD last year! says he questions why he has no desire to get forward when we were losing 1-0....I thought at the time, what does shearer know about playing in midfield but the more I watch Huddlestone, I think how much sense Shearer speaks now.

I don't think Sheareris a big fan of Huddlestone!

I am having a go at Huddlestone as much as the next person, but it isn't a witch hunt its because we know he is 'technically' and 'potentially' is a quality player. For whatever reason he is as poor as the rest of the team at the minute. For whatever good work Livermore does in winning the ball back, his first touch and passing means he gives it straight back. To be honest you cannot just single these two players out, its collectively as a team at the minute, 1-11 we haven't been good enough, and I believe thats been all season. One of my biggest gripes about our midfield is who is actually sitting? You watch Palace or West Brom they have a designated 'sitter' to break up play, our central midfield can be passed around in two passes, so horizontal and static.

The blame lies with Bruce as much as the team, for having Chester (who is far and away our best player and missed), Bruce, McShane and Davies, and then too sign Maguire and Dawson has crippled us a bit. Signing Dawson has totally disrupted the balance at the back, why we needed both these centre halfs when we are crying out for a couple of full backs is beyond me. Bruce publicly stated Robertson isn't quite ready at the start of the season and then Figueroa been so poor at the end of last season, means really theres only really Rosenior is Premier League standard. Both Elmo and Robertson are wingers in my opinion anyway.

Don't even get me started on McGregor, he is so flat footed and on the heals its unbelievable, why does he always end up on his backside? I maybe been super critical and I have not seen the goals after the game, but should he be beaten for the 2nd?, and the 3rd it was only just above him? I guess hes only as bad as the whole team at the minute.

It's absolutely nothing to do with a witch hunt, well not in my case anyway, it's everything to do with the fact that we managed to win two out of four games that he was recently banned for, that opened my eyes t ohow ineffective he is, not simply to his own game but how he slows the game down to his own pace for all the players around him.

Plus I'm convinced that after getting the yellow, in the game that led to his ban, he then went on to make a ****ing crazy tackle in the same game to ensure that his ban was extended to four games, conveniently covering the Christmas period. Call me paranoid if you want, but at a time like this we need players with spirit that will fight for the cause, Huddlestone strikes me as anything other than that.

You see a witch hunt, I see a player who is wasting what obvious talent he has, and in turn dragging the rest of the team down to the tempo at which he's comfortable playing.

The team do look predictable with Huddlestone in it and if I see no change next game, I will not b e able to go see us again this season, I can't afford to go watch dross!

They definitely need a kick up the arse, Quinn should start ahead of Huddlestone next game and we should revert to 3-5-2, the strikers are getting no service at all.

I don't agree that there is a witch-hunt against Huddlestone, I agree with those that say Livermore is actually showing some heart but Huddlestone pinging the odd spectacular pass does not make up for all his failings this year

The strikers are equally to blame though. They didn't get in the game at all yesterday. Hernandez never does, but Jelavic didn't put in the shift he usually does either.
