Lallana was disappointing - slows play down quite a lot. But he needs a run and I'm sure he'll improve.

Exciting to have Sturridge back, playing in front of an electric Sterling and the in form Coutinho. The Holy Trinity

    Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers:

"Daniel Sturridge is a top class player, he has shown that in his career so far. He worked very hard and the first opportunity that came his way he took. It was a wonderful pass by Philippe Coutinho."

"We were obviously disappointed in midweek with the result at Chelsea in the Capital One Cup. We knew coming into today it was going be a tough game. West Ham have done great this season, but we had to win the battle and compete, fight and press. My players did that magnificently well. Maybe we could have had more than two goals."

Just a shame that when we win our close competitors do too.

We need arsenal and Southampton to drop points tomorrow.

    sisu.... read my signature.

enjoy it while it lasts mate...... I was actually there.. rodgers lucked into this formation when glen jonhson got an injury then he got a thought, tried it out in training and implemented it when we were at a really low point.

Again had toure not got injured... no can.... markovic at left wing back... god knows why but it was last chance... incidentally as an attacking force i'm still not really sold. he's not all that on the ball still.... for a 20mil player playing much deeper and having more time on it... but his brain is there to see and adapting to such a position is impressive

All in all... you can boast about loving rodgers all you like but the fact is its a good run of form right now but nothing been achieved yet.

incidentally those calling it like it is always get abuse so i'm sure jimmy and the rest will get it but this flip floppery is very funny. it only takes a few results and its giving ti large. no wonder we are laughed at cos its great, enjoyable but the reality is we've done NOTHING unless we actually deliver a pot or 4th out of it.

    Who cares?

I'm enjoying watching us play football now compared to 3 months ago where we were dire. At least we're passing the ball and moving while keeping clean sheets.

for what.. winning 5 of last 6 and only that 2 goal slip v leicester? Or 3 clean sheets in a row? or semi final of a cup being actually repsectbale...

OR... should manager get credit for turning unacceptable performances around (using senior players and lambert up top in a totally alien game to hi style) into acceptable performances?

In case you missed this..... for the record... LFC are all about silverware... credit comes for achievement not for delivering what is basically expected.... I honestly don't buy this oh we have the excuse of being nearly destroyed or oh we are in transition. Until IMO we stop accepting crap and say hey actually you know what... being brave and morally the better team but losing in a semi isnt't actually all that. I want trophies and success for LFC not just 4th.

I said so too... improvement is fine. i am saying we are not at a point where we can say much yet.. not when MY wish for LFC is a lot higher than scraping 4th or being credible losers to chelsea either.

Enjoy each game as it goes yes but my view is I reckon we are going to finish in a certain place and there'll be a lot of wondering why in the end.

I said before this season started I could see a scenario where rodgers got the sack and honestly before christmas it was far worse than i'd imagined at all. Its been recovered somewhat but its still a catch up game from here.

Mainly because we lost the only WC player in the squad and then also lost his partner in crime for 5 months
