Berahino creates another chance from nothing and Lloris does well to save it. Rose's clearance was equally important.
...talking of improving players, I'm much happier with Rose now than I was a year ago. He's kind of won me over. Glad he's got competition, mind.
That might be why he's improved. Seems to be what Pochettino wants from a fullback, too. I like Davies, too. Nice to have options.
Mason has played more football and is more likely to be playing in the key games in the coming months so its a fair enough decision IMO.
Given the scoreline, it probably does make sense. Kane with a free-kick that's saved. Not quite at Eriksen's level, but it was quite far out.
And in fact I'd want Eriksen and Kane off. We're nothing without those two. Wrap them in cotton wool.
Really poor backpass from Fazio. Put Berahino in, but Lloris retrieves it. Soldado replaces Kane. Be nice if we could create a good chance for him. Test their bar out. Is that 19 or 20 for Kane now? Superb stuff.
I'm not watching. But, by the scoreline, dare I hope that we've finally started to learn how to close games out, and finish opposing teams off??
That sums up Lamela. Poor decision making leading to a rash challenge and a deserved yellow card. I cannot see how he offers more than Townsend.
Silly booking for Lamela there, but he's worked really hard and closed down consistently well. It'd be nice to see him doing a little more damage, but given his recent injury I'm hoping that'll come when he's back to 100%.
3-0 FT. Impressive performance and scoreline. Superb support from start to finish, too. Our workrate and fitness were excellent, especially considering our number of recent games. The Baggies had a week to prepare, as we faced a semi-final away up North, but it looked like it was the other way round. Good stuff.
