I'm not expecting any-thing from this game, but then again, neither did I when we went to Luton and got a point. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/30963279 Pre-match stats (just to cheer us up!) Sorry Dev - just noticed you have already started a thread early this morning. Dev or meowth - please merge the threads if you can.
We appear to have started well, just had a good shout for a hand ball in the box by a Wanderers defender. Not Given. Commentators saying that Marcus Bean has gone in on Pompey players with a couple of heavy challenges, one with his arm apparently. Got something to prove have we ?
Ricky Holmes (who else) has put Northampton 1-0 up at Accrington Stanley Our formation of 3 centre backs and 2 wingbacks appears to be spot on so far. Matt Tubbs has gone very close a couple of times.
0-0 at half time, which is a bit disapointing, bearing in mind how well we have been playing so far. If we can continue in the same vein in the second half, we surely deserve all three points. A first goal for Matt Tubbs can't be that far away. PUP
.....and he won a penalty for them to score their second goal. They are down to 10 men now, and Accies have pulled a goal back !
Passley already booked and in trouble with the Ref - who gives him a warning and had a word with Chorley about it. What we don't need is to go down to 10 men.
Wycombe commentary saying we're looking tired and leggy and now looking nervy. Needing some fresh legs on pronto from the sounds of it.
Chairboys on the ascendancy now. Apparently we're looking like a side that's expecting to concede a goal, dropping deeper and deeper.
On Express FM, they are discussing Pompey bringing on young Conor Chaplin for Matt Tubbs, to give us a bit more pace up front. Knowing our luck, Awfs will bring on Craig Westcarr instead.
Joe Devera on for injured Ben Chorley, who apparently has played well today. Matt Tubbs makes way for Johnny Ertl.
Settled for a 0-0 draw. We were better in first half, chairboys better second half. Not too bad overall. They couldn't cope with our system according to commo.
Final whistle, and a 0-0 draw. Really thought we would win the game after our superb first half performance. A point is better than nothing, but 3 points would have been nicer. Awfs vindicated for his team changes, and being roundly cheered by our fans. Nice to hear.
