Mentioning him in the same sentence as Bony isn't criminal. It's natural we compare the two as they both play or played as a striker for the Swans. Gomis covers more ground there is no doubt but in almost every other department he can't compare. But how is anyone supposed to compare if we can't mention them in the same sentence? <laugh>

Has he actually played well for you? All I see is comments from him saying wants CL or a bigger team. Is it made up or is he really a dick?

I think the fans have been very patient with him but mouthing off hasn't helped him. With the odd exception he's been pretty poor so far.

Not wishing to be contentious, but is it now mandatory on this forum to actually "like" Monk?
If so,when was that decree issued, and who first decreed it?

It's a bit unfair to pick on Bob,especially when other posters are constantly maligning players, such as Taylor,Gomis,Shelvey, and not being singled out.
Although Shelvey is now flavour of the month,or at least for today, thanks to his goal.

Such is the inconsistency and hypocrisy of the average football fan.

Also, have you forgotten the vicious attacks on Laudrup by certain posters?
I don't remember anyone being criticised for apparently not liking him.

The time is well past that people should be criticised for daring to have an opinion.

I see Monk is not "a rookie" tonight.
    He's a genius who masterminded a win.
Just wait until the next defeat, then he'll be "a rookie" again.

I just love the inanity of this forum.

    <cheers>

No one has to like dislike anyone but it amazes me how many threads descend into bitch fest , one day when the true messiah manages our club perhaps reading posts will become more enjoyable ,I feel it'll be a long wait .

We already had "the true messiah",but Jenkins couldn't deal with his history and popularity.

So he hung him on a cross, and then paid him millions for medical treatment. <laugh>

Should we have accepted that offer?

In my opinion, yes we should have accepted.

Bafe has played a part in some good play but mainly by taking defenders away from the ball and creating space for others - yesterday v Southampton he did it twice and one of those led to Shelvey's goal, as much an assist as if he'd split the defence with an inch perfect pass.
    BUT
The way we set up Bafe is not a goal machine, he needs a co-striker / forward to play off and play in and his shots on target ratio must be the poorest ever from a Premier League player. Monk tried 4 4 2 early season and, for whatever reason, it was beyond us so I doubt Gomis will score many at Swansea.

He is a player who has said he wants to move, he is nearly 30 with over 3 years left on a contract that includes an £8 mn signing on fee - surly taking £1 mn hit now is better than a £3 - 4 mn hit in a year or two.
We have Emnes, Barrow, Oliviera to ask the question of, 'Would they score less goals than Gomis?' (Personally I think we could be just as successful without a striker as we were when Sinclair and Borini.)

Of course it's not mandatory and no-one would suggest or want it to be so.

The problem with Bob the Slob is that 90% of his posts are just the same anti-Monk rhetoric again and again and again and again. Day after day after day. Without fail. Many of them are 'clever' thinly-veiled swipes at that.

I notice from the 'likes' that more and more posters are getting bored with his tedious barrage.

We all know what his stance is and he's perfectly entitled to it, but it's the frequency of letting everyone know that's winding people up.

And as for quoting the Monk comment about Sousa in bold every 5 minutes, perhaps he could refrain from that now, that's also got very tedious.

    That's all <laugh>

Very little pro-Monk comments for quite some time until after yesterday's result. Many of my comments are in response to the sycophantic 'pro-Monk rhetoric again and again and again and again. Day after day after day. Without fail.' that are made by a few deluded souls <laugh>.
I will give Monk credit where it is due but I will never like the man as a manager or person.

To be fair to Garry he has a better win ratio (38%) tha Laudrup (36%), Sousa (37%) & Flynn (34%)
    - BR (45%) & RM (50%)

For the record; we have, to date and hopefully that will change, more chance of losing games under Garry than any manager (excluding caretakers) since Colin Addison.
    Garry (40%), ML (36%), BR (34%), PS (26%), RM (20%) ... Addison (45%)

This is not having a go or a thinly veiled swipe it is mathematics.

“Looking back now, I'm glad we didn't get into the play-offs with Paulo, as he did not deserve to be the one to take us to the Premiership. He had not earned that right... " Sabotaged or not good enough?
