... Ok ... perhaps not quite so innocent then ... althgough stamping on an opponents legs only gets you one game more
Personally, it sours the deal a little for me, not just because 2 games is actually a considerable chunk of the 16 we actually have left. It's not cool to publicly mock people with gender identity issues, and if he's coming here I'd like him to issue a public apology (if he hasn't already). We know from past experience that Pearson won't be pleased with people acting like arseholes on social media so it could be an issue.
Personally, I think it's a joke that he's been banned and fined for it. You really can't say or do anything these days, without somebody getting the arse. He apologised, anyway, for what it's worth... He tweeted: "Clearly no offence was meant or directed to anyone, but apologies if I've offended anyone."
... I'd agree ... but from the details so far it's a bit of a leap to suggest that he was publicly mocking anone ... the 'game' appears to revolve around looking at the top half of a pic then scrolling down to see whether the last turkey in the shop is in situ (or not) ... whilst I'm only speculating, I would guess that the individuals involved were more than happy for the photopgraps to have been taken in the first place ... as such, and if that is indeed the case, whilst it's all a little crass, not to mention juvenile, I don't see that anyone has been mocked or victimised ...
Yes, these are explicit pictures (to say the least!). It's not like they have discretely taken photos of random people who may or may not be female, and posted them on the internet for people to guess. Whilst the people in the photos probably didn't intend for them to be used in that way, I'm not sure they are the kind of people who will be worrying about gender issues
Its clearly just banter which has only got to him due to the new crackdown on being impecable on social media. Yes, its a bit stupid but its hardly like he has been out there screaming out racism or anti-semantic rants
... and as I posted earlier ... he gets a two game ban for that whilst Costa gets 3 for stamping on a fellow professional? ... bang goes Jose's 'Chelsea vendetta' argument in one fell swoop ..
Footballers have got to learn though that their twitter accounts are not private, they have thousands of people following them and if they're being arseholes and playing games like this then they should be punished. I'm not trying to create some sort of gender argument out of this, as I haven't actually even seen what he was doing, but I think people with gender identity issues have it hard enough without people doing stuff like this- if he's apologised then fair enough, but I think the ban is completely fair.
So what will happen with Robert Huth? 1. Do you think Pearson will play him? 2. Who do you think he should replace? 3. Who do you think Pearson will replace? 4. Will he play 3 central defenders?
So something you haven't seen has led you to defend people who could be offended by it? The game could be hidden camera style photos mocking people, in which case fair dos, but it could equally be nothing more than an explicit version of "hot dogs or legs". I can guess the next one will be Vines of people dancing in silhouette and you have to guess whether they're black or white, that'll lead to a footballer being banned for being racist.
... Huth has more than earned a contract... he was just what we needed and I will readily admit that he is a far better footballer than I had thought from the few glimpses I had of him at Stoke ... with him we would have excellent options at centre back when you consider a fully fit Upson and a more experienced Liam Moore...
Priceless! That's why you are not a football manager OLM. Huth has never been hopeless at whatever club he has played for. Stoke fans love him.
