As in me for the record... My "we will go so far until we meet a real side and that means city or chelsea in a two legged semi where rodgers hasn't a clue what to do" thought paid off

Indeed, but to say BR didnt have a clue is complete bollocks (his subs were a bit shocking though). We created more than enough chances though over the 2 legs

You can blame him for buying crap strikers but thats all been done a million times and we need to move on, hopefully he's learned his lesson

 

Never mentioned important player contributions

 

Brod did better than I expected but the substitutions he made in the second leg were atrocious! He put pressure on ourselves although he obviously couldn't help Sakho getting injured. Also, creating chances is one thing but we didn't have a striker on the pitch. In addition to all that, Mourinho and Chelsea took the games lightly IMO, they rarely got out of second gear. You could argue that we didn't let them but I don't believe that is entirely true.

Sterling, who I know we disagree on as a striker. I think he is more of a handful than the other options on as a striker and probably just as good at finishing as any of the others, bar very, very arguably Borini

 

we did a lot better than i expected.......

I think i also put down 6th round in fa cup for the same reason... I would have to look back to see if i did however.

I'd like rodgers to learn thats all... I expected at start of year we'd be like lambs to the slaughter in europe as he has little experience to draw on. So far about all he has shown is he might have learned off of early cup exits but he still has not solidfied our set peice all that much... or perhaps balotelli hasn't learned a thing... who knows.

I still predicted getting out of group though in cl after seeing it

 

I previously argued that he should be played up top and he's doing exactly what I thought he would; pushing the opposition defence back creating more space, pace and giving us a counter attacking threat. However, his finishing is worse than Rob Jones'!!!

You are of course right to mention transfer etc and also right to say there was nothing he could do about that for the Chelsea games either. However, I'd have had Borini as an option on the bench rather than having Lambert AND Balotelli who are similar.
