Let's hope they make the noise of 43000 people! Love having loads in the stadium but hate when it's so quiet. It also shows how well we are supported when you look at the abject displays - just hope the players step up to the mark!

Over 44000 now and no cash turnstiles:

    http://www.safc.com/news/ticket-news/2015/january/no-cash-turnstiles-v-burnley?

Bumper crowd set for Burnley visit.

Sunderland AFC’s game against Burnley this weekend will be watched by a crowd of over 44,000 at the Stadium of Light.

A limited number of tickets remain for the Barclays Premier League clash and fans are advised that cash turnstiles will not be in operation for this game.

Supporters who have yet to purchase a ticket are advised to do so in advance where possible, to avoid queues or delays on the day of the game. Those collecting pre-paid tickets are also advised to arrive in sufficient time as the ticket office and collections points are expected to be very busy.

The Stadium of Light ticket office will be open from 9am until 5.30pm on Friday and 10am until kick off on Saturday. A 24-hour telephone booking line and online sales service is also available for supporters.

Following on from Burnley, the Black Cats next home Barclays Premier League fixture will be an evening kick off against Queens Park Rangers. Gus Poyet’s side welcome Harry Redknapp’s men on Tuesday 10 February in a 7.45pm kick-off.

Tickets for both games start at £25 for adults, £19 for over 65s and £10 for under 16s.

    >>>

Supporters can purchase tickets in person at the Stadium of Light ticket office, by calling 0871 911 1973 or via the online ticketing site.

All tickets are sold subject to ground regulations.

44k for years of general **** is remarkable. Apart from the "miracle", the derby wins and the LC run to the final there's not been too much to shout about.

Still, there's been the "miracle", the derby wins and the LC run to the final :) :) :)

lots of severe weather warnings being given atm with the possibility of a shed load of snow falling over the next 48 hours -just looking at real-time online weather tracking/forecast (below) and it show a polar low off the West Coast of Scotland that could develope into major 'snow fall' for whole of the country

I'm driving up tomorrow and going to Edinburgh on Sunday mate ......... should I bring my snow chains?

I'll be well pissed off if the match is postponed, I've arranged loads of deliveries around the NE & Scotland to tie in with it.

We were in Cornwall last weekend and there were spring lambs, snowdrops & daffodils.

I'm reliably informed that Ted Moult refused to drive one for an advert due to fear of the breaks failing in the snow.
You had to have a quick ride in them before they rotted away in front of your eyes.

Young Lambton felt inclined to gan and fight in foreign wars
He joined a troop of knights who cared for neither wounds or scars.
And off he went to Palestine where queer things he befell
And very soon forgot about the queer worm in the well

I only really learnt the first few verses before giving myself a headache <laugh>

You have to learn the dialect as well though as it sounds totally different to the Queens English version you have written..

<laugh> It is a very catchy song. The last bit I learnt was up to the goggly eyes purely because that phrase had me in stitches. Loads of people round here have geet big goggly eyes that's for sure.

True, however while I do a good Geordie accent, my Mackem is sadly lacking. It would sound like I am taking the piss ha!

It's war-m (war as in, what is it good for ...?), or warm as in blanket = worm
And the word war has a hard 'ar' sound as in bar/car/far etc
and scars is like 'scores' -

    - Young Lambton felt inclined t' gan an' fight in furrin wars* - (*wahs)

I have to agree with RAW, it doesn't look right when the English is standardised and corrected.
