I only caught the very end of Waggy and Chillo but I was extremely impressed with Chris Chilton because of his graceful style and the fact he was a local lad.

I saw ALL of Keith Edwards and remains as one of the most talented players I've been lucky enough to see in the Amber and Black.

whitmore wouldn't get a sniff, and neither would any of the other fair-weather players.

Again of the same era so my favorites are very similar to Roo and CT but would like to add the providers for Waggy and Chilton, Ken Houghton and Ian Butler plus the efforts of Billy Wilkinson, who although not as gifted always gave of his best.

I'm perfectly entitled to include them! If I just wrote 'Doyle' on the team sheet, people might think "What the hell for?".. it's not about the best team but one that means something to you..

I'll pick an 11 mostly due to their desire / professionalism.

    Fettis (what a strike rate!)
    Rosenior (model professional)
Mcshane (puts his body on the line. Would run through a brick wall)
Whittle (marshalled the team through some difficult times)
    Dawson (another model pro)
Elliott (all-time fave. Just seemed to have divine intervention working for him)
Ashbee (captained the team at all levels and led by example)
    Whitmore (mad skillz)
Barmby (homer coming down to league 1 to help out when still near his prime)
Payton (just remember him banging in the goals)
Windass (just loves the club and scored 'that goal' - I'll ignore the recent ambassadorial stuff)

You put Robertson in who has 16 appearances for us over one of the most consistent players for 10 years or so in Andy Dawson? I know this is a favourite team, I suppose you're entitled to your own opinion but come on, he's on an equal "sick note level" to Alton Thelwell at the moment.

I suspect, like myself, you took notice of City during the Horton years?

My selections are based on how exciting a player is to watch and who I have actually watched play. Not an easy task when you're living 3000 miles away for almost 45 years. I have maybe seen Daws play 3 times live, but now all City's games are on telly over here I've seen Robertson more often. He's a talented exciting prospect and has performed exceptionally well when I've seen him play. Yes, Dawson was a solid, consistent & loyal team member. Technically nowhere near as gifted as Jensen in their position on the park.
I would have chosen Bremner to start, but I never saw him play for City, but watched him play many times for Leeds.

So you base your choice of footballer on whether they are a family friend or you have played golf with them? Pretty strange way of choosing favourite city players.

I would suspect Dawson has played for City in more televised games than Robertson has so your logic does not work.

Yep and my favourite Tickton AFC player is my nephew.. stange that..
It's called a personal connection.. since Nathan Doyle left City, I've still followed his career..
My Grandparents' fav player was definitely Ken Houghton.. why? He often came for dinner at their house along with Ian Butler..
You can't deny that these things have a big influence
