HOT NEWS This is why we wanted 5million....all makes sense QPR are reportedly closing in on the £5m signing of Blackburn Rovers striker Rudy Gestede.
I think DT meant that the Wigan guy could play left wing back, with Isla right wing back and playing 3 at the back?
My number one target on FIFA15 for the next transfer window on my QPR game Don't know how good he is in real life but FIFA like Football Manager does better scouting than most clubs.
It's because he's not good enough for the Prem Beth. Utd, Newcastle and even us knew that, andthe Leicester fans thinks he's rubbish. Plus he's on bail for allegedly throttling the mother of his kid and has that iron bar attack re his mobile being pinched hanging over him.
......not without a replacement, if he is going to play 4-4-2 because the one player who score goals flounces around when he's on his own. The failure to coach and play an effective 3-5-2, which is the only formation this squad is suited to, is at the root of our problems. It's a complete disgrace. I notice Bristol City played it very well against West Ham at the weekend.
I'm with you on this one and agree that signing players for a 352 and failing to get it to work is the root cause of our problems.
Was never set up right in the first place, and the coaches lack the strength of character to stick to their plan and charisma to sell it to the players. The first 'ooh, we don't like this' from the players and Redknapp says 'the players don't like it, so we won't do it'. It's a ****ing joke, amateur hour.
Sunderland recently switched to it to accommodate Defoe and the players aren't happy with it. (At least according to The Sun)
They're probably not happy with Defoe being paid a huge amount more than they are......Disclaimer no idea of figures but he must have been paid a huge sum to go there.....
The thing is, it's not Large Hadron Collider stuff. It's what limited teams play - Van Gaal doesn't fancy the Utd squad, (and didn't rate the Dutch team at the World Cup) which is why he uses it. Quality teams play 4-3-3 with the ball, 4-5-1 without it. Which is what van Gaal used at Barca and Bayern. Great teams have players who **** the other teams up by moving positions all the time, instinctively covering each other. You don't see that very often mind. Brazil 1970 and Holland 74 spring to mind. Ajax set their teams up 4-3-3 at every level in the club and have done for years.
That's true Stan but if its not working, should you stubbornly insist with it or change? I'm not defending Redknapp I'm just saying there are more teams than us that have tried that system without much success (yet) so I don't know if I'd be calling our experiment a complete disgrace just yet.
No. I'd coach it properly in the first place. Or I would have hedged my bets and had a 25 which could handle both systems. This way we don't get the best out of Yun or Isla, two of our better players, who are wing backs, and who I'd prefer in wide midfield to any of our other options. Professionally, it is a disgrace, shows a massive lack of self confidence in the management team.
We have the players for 3-5-2 or 4-3-3 but NOT 4-4-2. Playing 4-4-2 without decent wingers is simply crazy. Well if these comes off Jeff we'll have someone to put the ball in the box and 2 front men who both know how to head the ball....play to our strengths.....
