WTF is going on with the club and what we do to players - Oxo was going to have a fitness test against Villa, but is now out until the Spurs game, and now Sanchez could miss the Villa game and needs a late fitness test! Welbeck is already part of the continual 'back next week' brigade that will prob play 2 more games this season!
http://www.espnfc.com/arsenal/story...-arsenal-vs-aston-villa-arsene-wenger-reveals Here's an article on it - it also says Welbeck should be back for next week and that Wilshire and Arteta are progressing well
True, but there's a big difference between resting and having a hamstring injury which could get worse at any point!
To be honest, for this game, it shouldn't be an issue. If we can't dispatch Aston facking Villa without Sanchez, serious questions need to be asked.
True - my worry is that it could turn into a recurring problem, or get worse and keep him out for a few games, and we don't want to be missing Sanchez. But with our luck with injuries his leg will probably fall off!
Hopefully it's not the ol Arsenal injury curse for Sanchez. But we have Walcott to take over so its a win win situation for us. Sanchez gets a forced rest (providing the injury is minor) and Walcott gets to play a full game and terrorise the Aston Villa defence.
I agree that Walcott should start over Sanchez, but in an ideal world because Sanchez was rested - if he's got a hanstring problem I'd want him nowhere near the bench just in case - the interesting issue is who will play on the other flank - Oxo is out, Welbeck is out, Sanchez is out/protected, so it's a choice between Ozil and Rosicky as far as I can see - unless Cazorla moves to the flank and Ozil plays in the centre. I reckon it'll be Ozil on the left, with Cazorla in the middle with both them and Walcott swapping positions continually throughout the game.
If that's what Welbeck can do to one of our players then I dread to think what Gabriel is going to do to them in training!!!
In his press conference Wenger says that he won't risk Sanchez but that Gabriel is ready. I reckon we'll have a team like this Ospina Bellerin (I think he's recovered) Merts Kos Gibbs (he should be fit) Coq Ramsey Cazorla Ozil Walcott Giroud with the below bench Szczesny Gabriel Monreal Chambers Flamini Rosicky Akpom Only question is how he works Cazorla and Ozil into the same team...
So a week or two of fewer injuries and a fuller squad and now we're heading back to usual with our list back up to containing Welbeck, Arteta, Sanchez, Wilshere, Debuchy, Gnabry... never-ending.
Apparently the lesser-spotted Gnarby is back in training and could be back in contention soon! You forgot Oxo though!
It'll be nice to see Gnabry back. He looked good last year and it'll be good to see him. But playing on the right is probably the hardest position to get into if both Sanchez and Walcott are fit.
I ain't taking the piss but if we can beat villa without Sanchez you lot should be able to...villa have been **** all season
