Who would be your starting 11 players that you have seen play for City in your lifetime? Myhill A Dawson Whittle Goodison/Turner Ricketts Elliott Ashbee Whitmore J Price Allsopp Windass
1. Tony Norman 2. Liam Rosenior 3. Andy Dawson 4. Richard Jobson 5 James Chester 6.Stan McEwan 7 Stuart Elliott 8. Tom Huddlestone 9. Keith Edwards 10. Mauricio Deiberson Geovanni Gomez 11. Theodore Whitmore Wow, it's hard to pick. Keep changing. Chester or Skipper? Edwards or Whitehurst? Huddlestone or Parker?
Myhill Ricketts Chester Turner Daws Elmo Ashbee Barmby Elliott Windass Jelavic (I am one of the younger City fans on here if you're wondering..)
Myhill Rosenior Chester Whittle Dawson Garcia Ashbee Barmby Elliott Allsopp Burgess Still not sure though. Could easily do an entirely different XI.
most definitely have ken wagstaff, chris chiton and ian butler in my XI... three players who should have had the chance to play in the old first division... waggies goals were a delight.
Norman Booth, Dale Roberts, Whittle, Dawson Marwood, Gareth Roberts, Askew, Elliott Mutrie, Whitehurst
going with favorites, rather than best: McKechnie Elmohamody-Kaye-Jobson-Dawson (A) Marwood-Roberts-Ashbee-Elliott Whitehurst-Hawley
Myhill Ricketts, Turner, Whittle, Dawson (though give him time and may well be Robertson) Ashbee, Joyce Barmby, Koren, Elliott Deano
Myhill Rosenior Chester McShane Dawson Garcia Ashbee Barmby Elliott Windass Jelavic There actually aren't that many players I've really loved watching when I think about it. I don't remember Barmby actually being that brilliant as a player. Not that he wasn't good, but he's in there because of his love for the club rather than his on pitch efforts. Apart from Ashbee have we had a really good central midfielder this century? I can't think of one. Strikers as well. Campbell would have been in but for the way it's gone since he left us. Windass is lucky he's in despite being an Allam suckup.
Got to be honest, i was umming and ahhing on the CM place to go with ash, but opted for Joyce, as much for what he did as player manger than as a player
I'm finding it hard to do one team, so I'm doing one from the first half of my years supporting the team and one for the latter. 1999 - 2007 Fettis Ricketts-Whittle-Turner-Dawson Green-Ashbee-Barmby Price-Burgess-Elliott 2007 - 2015 Myhill Rosenior-Chester-McShane-Dawson Mendy-Boateng-Ashbee-Geovanni Windass-Jelavic I did try not to pick players we have in our current squad, but it is hard to leave out Jelavic, Chester, McShane and Rosenior out.
Norman Skipper Turner Dawson(A) Marwood Barmby Ashbee Askew Elliott Whitehurst Windass Subs - Myhill, Rosenior, Chester, Robertson, Huddlestone, Geovanni, Jelavic
Vito Mannone Nathan Doyle (family friend) Stan McEwan (played golf with him) James Chester Andy Dawson Ian Ashbee Garry Parker Robert Koren Alex Dyer (First favourite player!) Billy Whitehurst (first player I saw score at BP) Matty Fryatt
I dont understand what is funny about that at all. Garcia was brilliant in our promotion season. Absolutely brilliant. I'd go: Norman Norton Jobson Whittle Jacobs Dyer Ashbee Parker Jenkinson Whitehurst Windass I've got a feeling (I was young) that Dyer and Shuffle might both have been left wing but I've gone with it anyway as Dyer floated a bit more..
