    Good Morning Everyone,

Jason Pearce appears poised to complete his transfer to Wigan Athletic. The central defender has accepted the personal terms on offer, and is expected to join the Latics shortly.

With Scott Wootton's re-emergence into Neil Redfearn's plans also provides extra cover, with the defender being versatile enough to fill in at right-back also if needed.

That leaves Rudy Austin. He is the other player Wigan have had their eye on. Word has it Wigan will pay 1.5m for the pair!

The winger I was referring to earlier was Martyn Woolford at Millwall. Told that interest is from Redders' side rather than Salerno etc.

    Has Redders lost the plot?

With Woolford being from Castleford there is a good chance he could be heading to Leeds, thats the rumour going around in what is likely to be a swap deal with Austin heading our way, if he goes to Wigan though it could be Morison instead.
As a player i like Woolford always puts in a good shift, however according to the rumours he is one of the disruptive players that has caused a divide in the dressing room at Millwall which has had a bearing on our recent slump in form.

Redders hasn't got a plot, he stumbled accross a system that nearly worked ar Sunderland and is clinging to it like a drowning man clings to a lifebouy.
The Wooton fiasco sums Redfearn up.... The guy wasn't good enough for us and on his way to Rotherham, then he is back and a key memebr of thec squad... clueless bufoon.

Morning Ringo, tell ya what (and I'm prbably gona get torn off a strip here) I like Morison <yikes> <yikes> <yikes>

He always puts in a shift, make a nuisance of himself, he doesn't moan and whinge and although his goals are not forthcoming, would always have him in the squad at this level.

I know what you're saying Glory, can imagine Redders telling everyone the same about Murphy after a few great games

    Good morning all..

The agent of Uruguayan international defender Alvaro Pereira has revealed that Leeds missed out on his signature this month. Pereira, 29, made his name with Porto, impressing as an attack-minded left back, before completing a move to Inter Milan in 2012.

The long running saga relating to Leonardo Pavoletti's future appears to be coming to a close, he has reportedly accepted a loan move to Chievo, with Sassuolo set to bring in Slovenian forward Dejan Lazarevic in exchange.

In regards to the Woolford link, if it was Redfearn wanting him we know how highly his opinion is regarded by Cellino so not a chance of it happening.

According to another couple of reports Becchio is still the number one choice of Redfearn, Cellino wanted Pavoletti and if we can't get Pavoletti then he will move to take Cani.

One report said Cellino was a little concerned that Edgar Cani does not have an especially prolific goalscoring record and it suggested we might make do with what we have.

Guessing it all makes sense and why we haven't signed a new striker yet despite the constant links to one.

I agree Chippy, I think Redders picks the team and hopes for the best, then dresses it up every game saying we did enough to take 3 points, not to mention his favourites.

Of late, Redders comments, both on game and the players have been, well, they don't inspire me or give me confidence in his ability. He seems to be taking pot luck and talking up games rather than addressing the issues. To me, he also seems to think bringing players in will be his saving grace, I have to admit I agree with Becchio coming back, but he needs to fix the midfield so the strikers get some good service.

I honestly don't think Redders can see where the problems lie, or he's just blinded by his favourites, both I think.

Woolford alwas scores against us, worth a punt tbh.

We need players who can play football so Pearce can leave straight away.

reluctant to say on Austin because I feel we would miss him if he left although technically he is a poor footballer and can't shoot he has helped us in recent weeks

You are joking aren't you? he has put 4 shifts in for Leeds United!!

If he performed like he has the recent weeks his whole Leeds career he would be loved by the fans

Unfortunately Austin lacks the consistency we're looking for, if football goal posts were rugby posts, or 20 foot wider then we'd probably be knocking on the top 6 door, but they're not. We need quick thinkers in midfield, I don't think Austin is a quick enough thinker to continually, or regularly service our strikers.

IMO our strikers are being let down by our midfielders.

I agree with you, amazing considering we have 17 midfielders, and with the likes of Cook and Mowatt, we should have one of the best midfields in the division

We've been creating a lot more chances lately but we need more quality than Morison to put them away

There's no way Morison should be playing instead of Antenucci

Good morning Matt and co from a sunny Cote de Bardsey
If we get 1.5m for Austin and Pearce that will help our finances a great deal
.Woolford has been one of those players that seems to score some good goals and has vast experience I really dont know where to go with this one
We still need a striker why we dont go for Chris Woods is beyond me he is just what we need
Finally my thoughts on Redders nieve clueless and needs to go back to the academy I think we have a much beeter balanced squad in terms of age so all we need is someone to put the pieces together

Beat me to it, LiE. The midfield have created a shedload of chances in the last couple of games, but they've mostly been for our lone striker, Morison. I'm guessing it's the extra midfielder that's helped with creating the chances, but sadly, the downside of this is that there's only 1 striker to make the chances for! And sadly, it's Morison, who's never been a prolific scorer, or lone striker for that matter. ut we don't really have another lone striker option. Catch22.

    Morning Mike et al,

I really don't think we should sell Austin. It won't make that much of a difference to our finances if we sell him, but it could harm our chances of avoiding relegation if we do (either by missing him in our team, or adding a weapon to another team). He played brilliantly in behind Morison in the last game, and I think it illustrated where we've gone wrong with him before. We've usually played him as a DM. We've even played him on the wing!!! But it seem clear that his best position is heading up the diamond, or playing off the striker in a 4-4-1-1. Seems to be working, so we've got to gamble & go for it.

I don't know much about Chris Woods, so won't offer an opinion, but I think we missed the boat by not signing Bent. There must be another good PL striker hidden in a squad who's not getting game time. We need to find him!

    Morning all,

Back in the online world again and trying to catch up on what I've missed over the last week. I actually think we probably should hold on to Austin until the end of the season. If Pearce does complete his move to wigan is this some sort of record? Getting rid of two captains in the same window

I'll be making a match thread after I've had lunch

    Good lad <applause>

    Morning all

Been expecting Austin and Pearce to leave for a while now so I've become indifferent to the idea. To be honest I've not expected anyone who Celino hasn't signed to stay.

I've going to reserve judgement on Woolford until he comes and plays, if he comes and plays, other wise he's just a Wallie.

I think we might have an interesting Deadline day on Monday. I can see a few more players leaving with a couple more coming in. Hopefully the Club's Twitter feed doesn't troll us again
