Belgian journalists (I now check these dily, even before reading my Daily Mail) are reporting that we are in talks with KAA Gent over the loan signing of the 30 year old Belgian midfielder. He formerly played for Waasland Beveren, the alma mata of Bob Peeters

I don't know anything about him, but looking at Wikipedia, I see that he has played for the Belgium national side.

It looks like he is joining.

@HLNinEngeland: Player already said goodbye to his teammates. AA Gent director Louwagie confirms the agreement with Charlton. #cafc

This isn't our club any longer. My affiliation is dying.

But we live in hope something is pending round the corner..

What's the point do we need another midfielder?

I didn't feel it was our Club in the Glikstein days, where he did what he pleased and sold players for peanuts. He also let the ground run down. It really is a fallacy to say it is our Club. It is always the owners Club, whether we like it or not, they can do what they like with it. All we can do is voice our displeasure, the way we see fit and put pressure on the owners.

What I would like is an end to the network, in theory it works, but in practise it is a disaster. I would like the CEO to stop lying to us and for us to get back to having an owner who is going to advance the Club, not in a throw money at it and sod the consequences way. We do not appear to have a direction with RD, bringing in network players largely hasn't worked. Now he is panicking by bringing in lots of Loan signings to help us stave off Relegation. To me that is not joined up thinking. I will always support Charlton and I will give the new players a chance.
But this Season is showing signs of the relegation season to Div1 under Pardew and Parky.

If we are sold or he walks they don't just walk, they are tied into agreements or contracts regardless of RD.

I don't see Le Point of you saying 'give the player a chance'. If this was Day One under Douche I could understand it, but this is signing no.24 apparently. How many of those have been any good ? One...two...
People said give Tucadean a chance....today he is on his way back to Romania.

The Club is absolutely ****ed if we carry on like this. 10,000 v Rotherham on Saturday?

Why not give the players a chance? What have we got to lose? You can't just lump all the players together and say he is signing number 24 so he is just like KOC and Nego. He has played for Belgium so he must have something about him.

Sign 'em all and let God sort 'em out!

Wait, I forgot, he is not our manager any more.

Ok... reasons why this signing may be marginally less depressing than some others we've had:
    1) It's a Belgian, but crucially not a network player... he's actually coming from somewhere other than Liege reserves.
    2) I've seen nothing that says this is a loan... possibly a signing with a fee?
    3) Our midfield is about as creative as a bin liner, we could have Super Clive and Killer Hales up top and we wouldn't be scoring... positionally this is the right signing, if we get a striker as well
    4) he played for Belgium.

Of course it could be a loan, which will depress me again.

It makes me angry that RD lets a few more in after the fact, it is too late for a good end to the season. We have let points slip right through our hands, makes me furious. What a loony RD is, he has no idea.

This is a permanent deal, a 2.5 year contract. He is having a medical today.
