A horse that will win at large odds soon is Group Therapy. Trained this season by David Barron all he needs is to be dropped a grade or 2, he is without doubt capable of winning a Listed Race and/or even Group 3.

He likes to come with one long run which can itself cause problems but when the day comes and he is dropped in class GET ON.

Spanish Plume - Ran in a moderate maiden on debut, the horse travelled nicely into the race but Gibbons gave the horse an 'education'. One to watch when it gets a handicap mark as I think it may be a 70+ rated horse which they are plotting up.

Would it be useful if I recorded these and posted when they are due to run.

    I could record (for example):

    • Notes (from the post)
    • A direct link to the Racing Post Form
    • A direct link to the ATR free video if applicable
    • A direct link to the next upcoming race
    • Pre-race comments from the original poster (if applicable)
    • Result and post race comments from the original poster (if applicable)
    • Direct links to each race result (since noted)until removed by original poster.

    Ron,

I would suggest that if you have chance you would set up the gg.com reminder for each horse mentioned and then you could post those things you state in your example.

I keep all my reminders on so I update when they run (given that I am at home that day)

I did ask about your idea of of a direct interface to GG.com but I haven't heard anything. I'm treating that as a dead duck at the moment. Given that I upload all the runners and results every day, If I had these Horses to Note on a database it would be literally 2 minutes work (max) to run of a report of those entered next day.

The whole thing would take a max of 1 hour to design and build so if it's any use I don't mind knocking it up. The time would be in populating the database which would depend on the number of horses noted.

I suppose it would be a problem if people came to rely on it and I as unable to gain access to the internet for any reason. Same problem if I set up a GG.com reminder).

    Tricky.

I think everyone will have their own back up of their selections, but it would be lovely to see when they are running and get debate for the horses.

I would find your idea very useful

  7. Ron I agree with Nass, reminders on here via whatever medium would be very useful. I personally use NAG me but have missed a view so the more reminders the better.

More than willing to help with this one if you wish gents ?. Ron you deserve a break haha :). I have constant access to the internet and would be willing to set up a GG acount with all the horses noted on here. Will edit the advanced options with the reason a poster puts down - and then post in advance whenever we have one running.

Willing to help but also like Rons idea :) which sounds fantastic as well :emoticon-0100-smile

RV Thanks for the offer. That would be great. Helps to spread the load and get others involved. You have MS Access so if you would like to run the system I can certainly help if you need any help.

Do you know how the GG.com works (eg in how does one record the horses and how do they notify you when they are running ie in what format?).

    GG.com works pretty easily.

Input the selections thought their website... They then send you an email with the comments as to why you put him in your alert system in first place.

Thanks Cats. Sounds like it's not worth doing anything else then. I think what I was suggesting would be an overkill given that. It's easy enough to look up the form and videos (given the frequency of notifications).

RV. Shall I leave you to manage the Horses to Note using GG.com and you can just post the notifications on the Thread?

Definitely has a chance WF, was flying a bit too high at Ascot. He was beaten by Rainmac last year over 8f but I'm ignoring that. I've napped him for tomorrow but that's only because I would be gutted if he won and I wasn't on. Sound reasoning <laugh>

One that really made an impression on me a few weekends ago was the O'Brien 2year old David Livingston. Won the maiden that Roderick O'Connor picked up last year in very commanding fashion beating one of Jessie Harrington's best 2 year olds with ease. He pulled miles clear by the line and won with so much ease it was untrue.

We will see this horse in the better 2 year old races towards the end of the year and i wouldn't be surprised to see him compete in group one's.

Right I have put together the list of horses we have on here at the moment. All the reasons have been copied in to the GG alert and I will put them on whenever one is out. I will keep an eye on the emails all of the time to make sure we don't miss one, and will update the thread when we have a runner as soon as I get the email :)
