Would not take any notice of that. Miranda was not called up the brazil world squad and he was one of the best CB's in Europe last season.
I'm sure that the Brazilian media was forever criticising Scolari for picking the same clique of players regardless of form.
Wenger Knows Best@wengerknowsbest 9h9 hours ago "Ivan? Arsène. Yes, the exchange rate keeps falling. I know. If we wait little bit longer, we might get Gabriel on a free..."
what is taking so long with this? fee, salary and work permit have all been agreed. and as far as i'm aware the medical was completed fine the other day. i'm sure Wenger said it would be done before the FA cup draw yesterday, yet here we are 24 hours later and still nothing.

Today I spoke to a Barca fan and asked if he heard about Paulista and he said "yes of course" and said he was a very good player and surprised we got him at this stage. Hopefully he is right!
He's been confirmed http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/20150128/arsenal-complete-the-signing-of-gabriel
Good news! Says he can play fullback also which is useful. He's certainly not going to have a David Beckham style catwalk career anytime soon though is he?
The more I hear about him the more confident I am that he's a good signing (without having seem him play though) the fact that he can play RB and LB as well is a major bonus considering we only have 2 players fit for each position.
Sounds like a multidimensional player, something Wenger likes. He should fit into our system nicely. I feel more comfortable now with some defensive back up
Definitely - according to reports he's a fast, ball playing defender with a good pass completition rate (for a defender), which is another thing Wenger likes, as he likes to start attacks from defence. It's also really good that now we have 8 senior defenders, when we started the season with only 6! (Counting Bellerin, whose really stepped up and Debuchy)
Our team is shaping up nicely now and if Coqs can maintain a consistently good level of performance as our DM, then we may well pull of a few surprises this season.
Im trying not to be too confident just in case, but our team definitely has a better look to it and more strength in depth now
I've actually got hope for once... it's a strange feeling and not had it for a while. Even though Villa can be sometimes be dangerously quick on the counter away from home, anything other than an absolute unlubed rodgering of them would disappoint me. When was the last time we had Ramsay, Cazorla, Ozil and Sanchez all fit at once?
