BTW do not confuse VALUE with monetary cost. a players value is made up of much more than simple fees which are dictated by stupid things like tv deals, shirt sales potential, length of contract and nationality. value = what you can deliver on the pitch and in revenue off it. these days compensation fees for transferring registrations are far higher than potential value ever will be. lallana is a prime example.. in no universe would he ever pay back 25mil plus wages of course in increased prize money due to playing brilliance or in shirt sales etc.
What is the situation though RHC? ... that his agent wants a big dollup of cash? that he's just waiting... for no particular reason... or that ian ayre is too busy using the cntract to snort coke off fowlers living room carpet to actually sign it? like i said thats fine for this window.. we have the power to be comfortable. If we are saying the same in june... all bets should be off as the power starts sliding to the player and we cannot afford that. I eagerly await news between now and say april/may. If no contract is signed by the start of the hols LFC should have him sold before preseason starts back (IMO)
Hope so. We'd be mad to let his contract run down....mind you, we'd be mad to pay top dollar for a lad who clearly has to improve! No other news RHC? Anybody going to slip through the back doors on Saturday night? Any news on transfers too?!?
He was brilliant last year when pressure was off him a bit as defenders were marling SAS more tightly leaving space for him to work. He he is a brilliant player but he's Young and at the moment he's being asked to be the focus point of our attack and pin all our hopes on him despite that not even being his natural position. Whether hes he's world class or not makes no difference e we are a much better team with him compared to without. Gets players like Coutinho Stirridge Markovic all gains him to work with him and it'll being the best out of him
Currently the lad thnks too much. I'll tell you why. Because when he bursts forward he has to wait for everyone to catch up, when we had Suarez and Studge he always had players up with him or ahead of him. Sterling is not ready to be a line leader but with the right development he could be considered world class. He needs to be working to develop his instincts, he has the ability to leave defenders for dead, last night was a perfect example, he leaves Zouma for dust and then starts thinking once he gets to the box and gets caught with the ball. His goal at Anfield v Chelsea... he had no time to think. You'll notice when he's out wide and decides he is going to get down to the line and cross it he can do it every time, he needs to be making his mind up much quicker and that will come but.. his finishing is just not there. If he Norwegian or something, Barca or Real would have nabbed him to develop him into a good player. Sterling needs to learn to quickly decide to make his yard and shoot, and work on it a LOT.
