Transfer News Site @TransferSite BREAKING: Chelsea's Andre Schürrle is very close to signing for Borussia Dortmund in a deal worth £27m. (BILD)
That's a cracking deal for Chelsea. They've do some great selling recently. Mata, De Bruyn and Luiz all sold for big profit.
Does that damage our chances of getting Salah (we're among the favourites to get him) or improve them given the money they've got in this deal?
Alexandre Pato is still hoping to seal a move to the Premier League before the January transfer window closes. Sources have confirmed to Goal that the striker is able to move to England from Corinthians for a loan fee of £1.5 million, while his £75,000-a-week wages would also need to be covered by any club hoping to sign the Brazilian. The former AC Milan forward was close to joining Hull City, but Goal understands the move collapsed on Tuesday night. Hull were locked in talks over a deal but decided against completing the move in a board meeting, though there is an outside chance the KC Stadium outfit could yet return for the striker. Pato is optimistic a move to England can be secured however, with QPR, West Brom and Everton also having held talks to sign the Brazilian. A source close to negotiations told Goal: "The player really wants to make the move. "It is big money but the clubs talking to him are very tempted as they know he could potentially be a top Premier League player, but it is a risk." Pato, 25, started his professional career in Brazil with Internacional before moving to Milan in 2007. He established himself as a first-team regular at San Siro in 2010, but failed to live up to expectations and joined Corinthians in June 2013, signing a four-year deal. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Weird, I wouldn't have thought we'd have even entertained it at those wages, let alone get to a stage where we're looking like signing him, so I'm guessing somebody else has come up that we can afford.
Last night Blackburn did not start either Rhodes or Gestede against Derby, they did the same against Swansea in the FA cup at the weekend. Come on Brucey, let Swansea have Rhodes and we'll take Gestede for £5m!
Let both go to Swansea as they have wonga to waste and Blackburn know it. Rhodes appears far too cosy in Blackburn now on his mega wage. Blackburn fans dont rate Gestede much either. Dame N'Doye rumour could re.ignite for us as Senegal are now OUT of the AFNC. Eion Doyle still gets my vote as a value for money potential signing.
You must be his agent, the amount you bang on about us signing him. In all seriousness, I have not seen him play, nor have I seen any of his goals, however he only started scoring goals this season, a one season wonder perhaps?
You keep suggesting him like he's a viable PL option, but he couldn't score for toffee in the SPL and has only just this season started scoring goals. It's far too soon to be able to tell if he's good enough or not. Look at the other clubs that are after him, Leeds, Rotherham, Sheffield United, none of whom are even close to being PL quality clubs, what is it that suggests to you that he's capable of scoring in the PL on a regular basis? If he was PL quality, other PL clubs would be scouting him.
Seen him a few times this season and he knows where the goal is especially around the penalty box. Chesterfield want around £2m for him. OH, i wish i was his agent. lol. He is a gamble worth taking for the wonga needed. He wage would not be much by PL standards either.
"BREAKING NEWS Paris St Germain are interested in taking Tottenham Hotspur striker Emmanuel Adebayor on loan, according to Sky sources. It is understood that discussions have taken place with Spurs but that Stoke and QPR are also interested in a deal." There goes another player who we should of gone for...
You'd of thought that about Huddlestone, Bullard, Geovanni and Dawson before we signed them, but we did.
I do when I am, it's just very rare. They offered him a contract because of resale value. Yeah that why he played him so often. The FACTS speak for themselves. How many players are massively rated by a manager who then plays them a grand total of 4 times in his entire club career?
Yeah but not Adebayor, who's CV reads, among other teams, Arsenal, Man City and Real Madrid. We'd probably have to cover his wages, which would be astronomical, but why would he choose us over somewhere like QPR who are still in London, or a French club where he feels more at home? I don't think anybody signed under the Brown/Duffen regime is worth considering as a surprise, given the wages they were offering players at the time. Look at what they offered Bullard, no other club in their right mind would offer that. I'd guess ditto Geo, although at least he paid back some of his wages on the park. But I wouldn't consider any of the players you mentioned in the same breath as Adebayor, they're nowhere near as good.
Pete O'Rourke @SportsPeteO Middlesbrough have signed midfielder Adam Forshaw from Wigan Athletic on a three-and-a-half year deal. Transfer Centre Live @TransferCentreL Derby County, Wigan Athletic and Bournemouth are all interested in signing Hull City midfielder Tom Ince on loan.
