...they've found loads of Asbestos in the damaged buildings. I bet the council don't fancy the idea of issuing a CPO now.
On the flipside does this mean they'll get them cheap cos the owners will be desperate to sell without doing the necessary works?
Surely discussing things the council should or shouldn't do is politics. You should close this thread now.
Asbestos is hardly news considering the buildings that line the dockside have it for the roof covering and it was the material to use back in the day. Surely its a Health and Safety nut getting a bit excited and nothing more. If you don't mess with it its pretty inert.
When we were kids we built a skateboard ramp on an asbestos roof, two of my mates fell through it. The joys of young ignorance.
I'm sure the building owners will love sorting that out. At least its all open to the elements. If its Manor I guess the council will pick up the bill. I don't think Manor have successfully finished anything more than a cup of tea?!?

Health and Safety are a National Government organisation so I am afraid you can't blame HCC for this one, Muppet[/QUOTE] Come on, by his standards that's pretty tame. It's certainly nowhere near the level of this from the back end of our most recent promotion season:
most older buildings were built with abestos, it's incredibly fireproof etc, but once it crumbles, the fibres.. well we all know need to sort out any worn down buildings that contain abestos, it's incredibly dangerous
welcome, it's about time some knowledge was on this forum half of you didn't understand the point of this thread
