Short answer is no, not really. Off to physiotherapy later to try and discover the cause of my bad back!
I was off recently with a bad back. Have you tried a TENS machine? I think they are fabulous. Certainly was the reason I got back to work so quick. Not homeopathic hooey, they really are superb, for pain relief and aiding recovery.
Apparently I'm not allowed to use them because of my diabetes, and apparently severe pain interferes with blood sugar readings!
Oh, sorry about that. That's pretty much the extent of my medical expertise... Hope all goes well with the physio.
Coincidence - I went to the physio yesterday too to try to sort out my slipped disc / sciatica. Now I have to go back again tomorrow. I think Yorkie needs to start an "old people's illnesses" thread

I to have a back problem, two collapsed discs due to injury with trapped nerves. How about calling the thread "Sannino is gone too" or "You youngens don't know you're born" or "When I was fit" Great idea Leo ... On a serious note sorry to hear your problems, Mrs L is okay.
We could have separate threads for those in their 40s, 50s, 60s and 70s to discuss their various age related ailments. And a separate one for Toby and the other young 'uns so they can laugh in blissful ignorance
Thanks for asking - yes Mrs L had a scan earlier this month and cancer is stable. Good thinking that man - but should we not ban everyone under 40 anyway
Ha! Mrs NZ has decided that all my ailments/injuries are a result of Infant Alcohol Syndrome or general head injuries that I keep adding to with bouts of stupidity.
Spent the day doing some inside building works here and tomorrow back to being a general labourer on my daughter's house means that I do not have chance to keep aching. I can think of a few occasions when a diplomatic pain could be useful, such as going to shops with my wife who wants some new material for curtains or cushions. A typical 'shop' selling tissus is usually vast with hundreds of rolls to choose from, and you know full well that indecision about which to buy will happen. A very large one in Chateauroux is becoming less demanding though as I have discovered that if I place the car in the right spot and the wind is blowing in the right direction, I can sit and listen to 5live while she is wandering round.
Due to my heart, asthma and epilepsy and the occasional other things in ENT and physio, I dread to think how many files there are about me spread between Watford General, Harefield, Mount Vernon, East Glamorgan and Jersey Hospitals! I'm only 42.
OK you lovely people, I'm off to bed! Night all Night H Take care Barry, you are a valued member of a special Golden Boys family!
