I was referring to winning outright, to be fair. Don't even see them getting one at the moment. (won't be surprised if they score now i've said that)
Poor Stevie G. So close to Wembley. Only thing funnier would be Liverpool winning and him being sent off so he wouldn't be able to play.
This happens a lot. Skrtel went to kick the ball so Costa put his leg in front of the ball a fraction of a second before Skrtel was going to connect with the ball. I think that should be a foul by Costa because he blocked Skrtel's kick rather than Skrtel fouling by kicking Costa.
Costa should have been sent off. At least 2 straight red card incidents. Refereeing in this country is pretty poor, they always dominate discussions after a game, rather than the football.
first one is a certain stamp - his whole body posture is prepped to push off from the players leg - if he was expecting to contact the ground wouldnt he have slipped over ?
Either bring in technology or stop moaning, simple as that. People need to either accept its part of the game (and always has been) or do something about it, moaning after each game doesn't solve anything.
Well that's Costa out of the weekends massive title race match. I bet Mourinhos well pleased with him.
I'm sure I heard some pundits on Match of the Day talking about Oliver as one of the best referees around, he's an absolute bottle job. ****ing useless.
Discussing (or moaning, as you call it) contentious decisions made by refs is an integral part of our beautiful game & reason enough alone to keep "technology" as far away, as possible, from it. Goal line technology was a step too far.
People wouldn't moan about it if the decisions were levied with a degree of consistency, which they aren't. We can't do anything about it, perhaps you need to stick to RL forums rather than getting agitated and uppity.
But consistency just isn't possible with the current set up, which is proven week in week out. Personally I like it the way it is and wouldn't want it changing. RL has nothing to do with it and no ones getting 'agitated' or 'uppity', just stating that those that feel the current standard of refereeing isn't up to scratch should be advocates of technology because that's the only way it will improve, the alternative is to just accept it.
It doesn't need technology, it just needs common sense and a level playing field. Teams at the bottom of the table are never afforded the rub of the green that teams at the top do. We see that time and time again at the KC. I accept humans are fallible, but in most cases these basic errors cost us dearly. Whether that's points or goals for or against. Moving referees full time should have seen improvement in standards, in my opinion we have seen no change.
The problem isn't that the referees can't see it or don't have a clear view, it's that they take the easy way out and bottle the big decisions. So I don't think that technology would make that much difference, and for one it would be ****, where would the talking points and debates go? Also handballs need to be cleared up, does it have to be deliberate to be given as handball or not? Not even the referees seem to know, the inconsistency is frightening.
Refs should have to do a post match interview, once they can truly be held to account and quizzed about their decisions, I am absolutely certain we will see an immediate improvement.
This! Why don't they just come out and explain their decision? If they believe that the decision is correct then how difficult is it for them to explain why, and if they're wrong then surely a quick "I made the wrong decision, at first sight I saw it differently" would be better than hiding away.
I think it would be far less informative than your anticipating, it would just be standard stock answers whilst avoiding any difficult questions. Much in the same way that manager/player post-match interviews offer absolutely nothing.
