Table sauces have no business being anywhere near eggs regardless how the eggs are cooked, ya disgusting trampy bastards.
What sauces go with what? I prefer ketchup to brown sauce, generally speaking. However: Brown sauce goes better with fried egg than ketchup. Most people think brown sauce goes better with bacon too but that is not my opinion. Far from it. Ketchup compliments bacon better. Mayo. Mayo on chips is a kinda European thing, but it is good. Not as good as ketchup but the odd time I'll have a notion for mayo. Mayo is good on a chicken burger too. And as the new guy said, it's good with tuna. Can't think of many other things it's good for. With a sunday roast I like either horseradish sauce or mustard. With a quality steak I don't have any sauce. If done right it should be tasty and juicy enough. People like peppercorn sauce, diane sauce etc, but again, not for me. If pushed I would say a little bit of mustard would be acceptable. Ketchup: Fry ups (ketchup with bacon, sausages, tottie scones etc outweighs brown with egg), chips, pizza, wedges, burgers etc Brown - Fried eggs, Haggis supper Mayo: Tuna, chicken burgers, chips Mustard: Burgers, Hot dogs, mashed potato (IN not WITH) macaroni cheese (IN not WITH) some fish, beef, sunday roasts Horseradish: Sunday roast, some fish BBQ - Surprisingly not really suitable for a BBQ - ok with wedges and stuff Curry sauce: Good on a roll n fritter
Recent studies have found that people who don't like table sauces are suppressing their homosexual tendancies. Buncha ****s
I agree on most of those points other than that ketchup should never, ever be eaten by an adult as it's a children's sauce. Nothing goes with a runny egg, the yolk is sufficient sauce in itself. Brown sauce only with a bacon butty. It also goes with a sausage butty, as does English mustard. Bit of mint sauce with your roast lamb? I reckon so. A decent pepper sauce is a good compliment to a well (correctly) cooked steak. The sauce should have brandy in it. Apple sauce with pork should be banned.
...apart from the pepper sauce. Steak doesn't need sauce of any kind. Ever. Steak oozing blood is perfect as it is.
I agree, it doesn't need a sauce with it. A good pepper corn sauce does it no harm though. Depends on which cut of steak too. A sirloin I think is more in need of a sauce than a rib eye for instance. The steaks with fat and flavour like rump and rib eye don't have any need for sauce.
Fillet hasn't got much fat in it and lacks the flavour of the others. Nice, but it helps to have a sauce to mix with the blood. In my opinion only of course!!
I've not had an egg for over a week, the wife, who is allergic to eggs, forgot to buy them. Could just go a niced fried egg. Just some salt.
See some chefs, they have their interviewees fry an egg. The amount of people who can't do it is baffling. I have 4 fried eggs a night so I'm pretty good at it.
