I dont know if anyone else has seen this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/tennis/30982873 But basically captain of the englands womens football team kelly smith has said that if a man interviewing her asked her to twirl she would slap them for being sexist. Yet she as a lady is able in her eyes to initiate violence with no consequence. Her comments have been covered by a number of major media outlets but none have suggested that her threat of violence is worth addressing. Is it just me or is it a bit nervy and hyprocritical to talk of sexism and then make such a statement. I could just be in a bad mood, not getting much sleep
You could be right. I thought all these top sports people had media training, you have to wonder though don't you. If it was the other way around you could bet a man saying it would be taken to task. Why not sleeping much mate?
Missus heavily pregnant, so sofa bound until the new bed comes beginning of february. The dog doesnt like sharing the sofa and he runs in his sleep which wakes me up every two minutes. All is good in the world, about to become a dad and all that. Just having a few weeks dodgy sleep in the process. Could be far worse. And im predicting im gonna get far less sleep when the little one shows her face in about a month and a half.lol
Good luck Red. Month and a Half? Must be due near the time of the Capital One Cup Final. Maybe she'll be our good luck charm

She's not the Captain. If she meant actual physical slap then she's not really helping the cause, violence (if tame violence) to combat what was a minor sexist issue. Yes it was sexist and a male tennis player would never be asked such a thing but it was hardly the greatest crime, especially when in context and Bouchard had been discussing Serena Williams outfit in a previous press conference. I would hope she meant a metaphorical slap, like a 'how dare you' or a more subtle 'Are you going to ask Nadal to twirl?' (which would have been the best come back). However Kelly Smith having seen interviews with her I feel it maybe the former rather than the latter, she does seem abit classless.
Back to the OP this is what happens when you give women a platform to speak to the public.... Put them back in the kitchen where they belong* *these views may not be a true reflection of how IBWT feels about women and should in no way be taken seriously.
Good luck Red. My eldest two slept through the night without any trouble so it may not be that bad. My thirds a pain in the arse though Just encourage breast feeding; cheaper and you don't have to get up in the night ;-)
