Those three categories were Nick Thompson's, rather than the owners.

When the FA give their decision, the owners are leaving anyway, they're even giving the club away. :emoticon-0112-wonde

The three broad sets of customers are not set in stone nor do they have to remain passive. The kindling is drying.

The support of the second and third groups depend upon success and success comes at a high price. if Ehab is correct we are close to our FFP wage limit of £56 million. If we want to breech that limit Assem Allam has to convert some of his loans into shares. If not we cross our fingers and hope there are three worse teams then us.

Yes, Hull Kingston Rovers are recognised locally as Rovers, just as Hull City are recognised locally as City and Hull FC as FC. That's been our local history and how it has been for over 100 years - Its nothing to do with any clever marketing.

Programme sales? I couldn't say how these have been affected in the last couple of games since the words 'Hull' and 'City' were deliberately removed but I do know that our programme sales have never been a major income stream for the club. Has the shop had less visitors? Again I don't have any official figures to hand but if recent visits are anything to go by I would imagine that the shop does receive less visitors. I visited the KC shop in the week before Christmas (as I have done every year) and I can say that this was the only Christmas I have known where I have been the only visitor in the entire shop. That's clearly not a scientific measure but perhaps a fair indicator that visitor numbers have been down. You could also look at the number of replica shirts from earlier seasons that are worn by City fans this season in preference to the current shirt (without the words 'Hull' and 'City') that is on sale. Yes, some fans have always worn shirts from earlier eras - but not in the numbers you see this season.

You say 'unless there is a significant change in the income of the club the rebranding will continue.' But do you really think AA would be swayed by a drop in the shop income? Didn't it take 2 years and a relegation before any notice was taken of the Cardiff City fans - despite the obvious (and very predictable) drop in their shirt sales? It could perhaps be argued that Vincent Tan is a comparatively rational owner.

"Significant change in the income" is the key term.

We might do better in the club shop if we didn't make tee-shirts with knock-off Converse logo's on them. <doh>

    Nasty isn't it?

Though we should at least be grateful that it says Hull City on it, of the 123 'new arrivals' on the website, 97 products don't mention Hull City at all.

If people are against the name change, market forces will resolve that with little need for any action at all.

As it is, we're losing the people that are liable to be bothered.

Theres 16 t-shirts on our website 9/16 have city on them. This one isnt to your tastes, so what pick another one.
I had a quick look on Southamptons club shop. They only have 4 t-shirts, yes 4, and none of them say the name of the club.

Dont you get bored of being so negative all the time

With the bastardised club badge this one could be a collectors item down the line, specially as its the (what little we had of it) Europa league shirt.

My Son in Law a Saints supporter was straggered by the offerings in our club shop. Compared to Southampton we have a vast range of decent quality stuff.

Seven of the 16 say Hull City on them and that's the old stock, I did clearly say I was referring to the 'new arrivals' section of the site and the others tees are crap anyway. It's not difficult to knock up some decent gear, there's no reason why we shouldn't be on a par with Leicester or Swansea...

    http://www.swansdirect.com/store/category/3/11/T-Shirts/

I don't think the fact that Southampton's is **** is a decent excuse for ours also being poor, Burnley don't seem to have one at all, I wouldn't suggest we followed that model either.

I'm generally positive, it's only with regard to daft name changes and things being poorly executed that I'm negative.

Only 9 t-shirts, again we have 16, on Leicesters site and most of them are ****ing rank. We have 9 polo's they have 7. Dont see anything so good on theirs. Most are the same product in different colours.
Ours isnt poor its just an easy thing to say. Why would any company rent a huge retail unit in St Stephens when people shop online nowadays. The products are there and the y look decent for the most part.

Fair enough, I bow to your superior knowledge of fashion clothing.

I never mentioned opening a unit in St Stephens, I think it would be a stupid thing to do.

The tiger brand could be a massive brand on its own if we had the right logo, I look towards our fa cup semi finalist opposition last year, "the blades" is a good looking logo which you can wear without people realising it's a football team, that what we should be aiming for, yes it won't make us millions, but it'll have people wearing our 'brand' that's what modern football sadly has to b e about
