I don't think ALF qualifies for that accolade Bluey. Decent strikers cost decent money and maybe the return of Mason is giving him ideas? I think Slade is going to cave in and play 5 in midfield with either Revell or Kenwyne up top on their own. At least that would be an admission that continuing with his crap tactics is not going to work with the players we have. There's nothing wrong with a 4-4-2 set up (in fact I've always liked that approach) AS LONG as you have the players in your squad to cope with just 4 in midfield. More of the same will take us down amongst the nearly dead men - somewhere we should never have even contemplated at the start of the season.
Mason's not going to be fit for a few weeks. Maynard could be off the Huddersfield and with Guerra gone we would be even lighter than normal up front. Personally I don't see ALF going - until the season end.
I don't think Mason not being fit until sometime in February is going to be a problem if Slade does goes down the "one up top" route. With 5 GENUINE midfielders in the side, rather than sending out an extra striker to play there, it just might work. Slade's selection policy is as bizarre as Ole's. He picks ALF and expects him to do a job better suited to someone like Ralls - switches Brayford from his natural RB slot to LB to accommodate Connolly on the right which isn't even his own natural position. Sticks Noone up in the "creative No. 10" spot when he never gets his head up to pass the ball anyway, and overall persists with a playing system that just isn't working. The guy has got to have been seen through by now by those with the influence to do something about it - he really has to go along with Young.
Bolton to get ALF on loan to replace Mason? http://www.burndenaces.co.uk/2015/01/22/bolton-close-in-on-adam-le-fondre-loan-signing.html
Looks like Baldy is in - another "one for the future"? http://sportwitness.ning.com/forum/topics/cardiff-complete-deal-for-inter-milan-midfielder
I read elsewhere his was due to be a transfer. Overall, I'll be glad to see the back of Le Fondre who has been useless but he'll no doubt notch regularly at his new club. But who is to replace him? Mason isn't fit is he? Healey on loan. Maynard is not up to it. That leaves Macheda. City need to splash decent cash on a replacement striker. To think Guerra was given away when e wasn't given a chance to replicate his goal scoring exploits in la Liga. Brayford going. Not a worry for me. He has not done it for me. Do I read it right that City will have 2 new midfielders - Baldi and the guy who was on trial? Surely City need someone with English league experience? What is this about an Italian keeper? Why when City have Marshall & Moore?
I'm unsure whether we need new strikers. With a better midfield/formation/tactics more chances would be created. At present the strikers have been on a hiding to nothing and have lived off scraps although I stand by my earlier comments that Le Fondre needs to go.
If Alf is on the way out, i think it safe to assume there will probably be another signing that we may not have heard of yet. Funny old game

If true (a big if) then he won't be playing for the best part of 2 weeks as Australia are in the Asia Cup semifinals and then 3/4 place or final, taking place at the end of next week. Then factor in celebrations, travel and jet lag
As we approach the end of the transfer window this where we are at the moment: Transfers Out: Javi Guerra, Magnus Eikrem, Mats Daehli, Jo Berget, Juan Cala, John Brayford, Kim Bo-Kyung Loan Outs Etien Velikonja, Adam Le Fondre (???) Transfers In: Alex Revell, Scott Malone, Lee Peltier. Any others?
Baldy. http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/cardiff-city-boss-russell-slade-8458602
........and another one to add to the "out list"............. http://www.cardiffcityfc.co.uk/news/article/club-statement-guido-burgstaller-2226159.aspx
Leaving out Kimbo who added some value in helping us get promoted and getting the equaliser v. Man U what did the rest of that lot cost us and apart from Daehli and Brayford did we get any money back on the others? I very much doubt it. Add to that I wonder what loan fees we paid for Zaha and Morrison? It all goes to show what a total balls we made of our transfer dealings in the last 18 months. Absolutely unacceptable. At least the 3 in cost very little and can be no worse than those shipped out.
This is a strange one even though not unexpected. He has started twice and scored once. He can't be on that high wages but has not been given much of a chance. This so called transfer committee has been a joke.
