Is Stewart Downing really Stewart Downing?

It seems there's so much uncertainty surrounding him and Dalglish won't come out and say anything. He knows the score with the fans and got the letter we sent when he came in to keep us informed of every move he and the team make from here on in. Which he agreed to live on SSN!

So I'm starting this rumour that Stewart Downing is not Stewart Downing. Please align yourselves on whichever side of the divide you like the seating arrangement for and spread the news (for it is "news" as defined by News Definitions Inc) via your usual sources. But not here, obviously. We've got enough Downing crap already, FFS!

Please choose from one of the alignment sections:

    1. I believe everything I read and Stewart Downing is too much for Stewart Downing.

    2. I have my doubts but no smoke without fire.

    3. Kenny says Downing is Downing and who the **** am I to argue?

Don't know about Downing ( I've never downed) but I've been saying for a while that that bloke who plays for Chelsea isn't the real Fernando Torres.
I think 'Nando has been replaced by one of those pod thingies from "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" and as we speak the real one is enjoying a bit of rectal probing out in the Oort cloud somewhere.

I'm about 40-45% sure that Stewart Downing is to much for Stewart Downing, but if KK say's that Stewart Downing is Stewart Downing then I would give him about 65-70% chance of becoming Stewart Downing in the future at LFC. Of course if Stewart Downing doesn't become Stewart Downing within the first year then my original statement stands.
Hope that clears up the matter!!

Rumour has it that if Villa continue to prick about over the fee,Liverpool will tell them to **** off and switch their attentions to Juan Mata.Who at 4 years younger is worth the possible £20 million asking price.

Let's hope the rumour is true then KPR.

I've never rated Downing and have gone on record saying as much.

If he does eventually sign for us then of course he'll get my support - like anyone else who pulls on the shirt - but I'm not convinced he has what we need right now.

    Firstly I back Kenny's judgement.
Secondly it all depends on Villa,If they don't play ball, then they will look for alternatives. One being Mata.

Mata is younger, will probably sell for a similar price, and in my opinion, has more ability

I wouldn't be surprised if we go for both anyway. Downing is 26 so three good years left. Mata is 23 so more of an investment. Rafa was seriously looking at Mata in Dec '09 and I think he had to settle for Maxi on a free instead. But the homework was done.

Downing has never been that great though. I'v always thought he was good on his day but marginally above average usualy.

Only thing I can see with downing is by bringing a british feel to the team, the team will Gel quicker and results might happen quicker? other than that, not sure why on Downing especially at that much.... ah well, at least with KK there is a rhyme and a reason.

Just wanted to prove that MFG used to actually start threads and discuss.

Glad to see he was right on the downing front. <ok>
