Longbow archers would have shot, two eyed, without aiming as we understand it. You can't sight along the arrow when the string is pulled back to the ear.
As for soldiers being supermen, out-shooting Legolas on steroids, I don't buy it. If they'd all been that fast, accurate and deadly, they wouldn't have shot until the enemy was a few yards away and then quickly wiped them out. Strangely enough, that didn't happen, and in most armies the heavy infantry or the armoured cavalryman was the king of the field. The English and Welsh bowmen and the *****l horse archers were exceptions due to special circumstances, partly due to the way they were organised en masse and partly due to the power of their weapons and their frame.

This man is a phenomenal showman and outrageous marksman, but he is as representative of the ancient bowmen as Annie Oakley was of wild west cowboys - someone who, regardless of how hard they practise, has a freakish natural talent.

Well, it isn't me who is claiming all the things I wrote. It's him.

The joy I felt when I got bought a ticket for the Liverpool game, damped slightly when I realised I'd selected 'print a home' and not 'post' as the fulfilment method.

Presume you haven't a printer. E-mail to someone with a printer.

Thanks for your concern guys, but it was just a nuisence as opposed to a problem. Once I found the printer, found a clean bit of paper, and fired up the antiquated PC, my tickets had been printed 15 minutes later.
