Good Morning Everyone, Great win for Bradford at the weekend beating Chelsea at Stanford Bridge, after being 2-0 down. I wonder what the odds would have been then? Both Bradford and the Blunts are hovering just below the play off places, and with games in hand, it is more than a possibility that one of the two will be joining us in the Championship next season. If one of the two HAD to go up, who would you choose? The gulf between league 1 and the Championship cannot be that great. Wolves currently occupy 7th position whilst Brentford are 4th. If our league 1 team (then) were to play our Championship team (now) who would win? Cellino almost pulled the plug on the Granddi Ngoyi deal, not due to his technical ability, but his birthday. Ngoyi was born on the 17th May... It is widely speculated that both Pearce and Austin will be leaving shortly. Thoughts?
Good morning Matt and Co from a sunny Cote de Bardsey If Austin goes it must be before next Tuesday otherwise we will get nothing for him I expect Pearce to go this week how much for well the pair should bag about 750k between them What a win for Bradford I described it as the most amazing result ever and Jon Stead a journey man proved that there is a talent there it just needs a good manager to bring it out he was the best player on either team for me scoring one and making 2 I think it would be good to have both the Yorkshire teams in our league the more local games the better I was very surprised when we played Brum on the 17 of this month so perhaps hes getting over it!
Morning Mike, Cellino on the 17th Cellino wore purple. He thought that the 17th, and the colour purple would cancel themselves out.
Great result for Bradford and Parkinson, not such a great result for us as we are still in a form of limbo. Yes we've heard MC has resigned, but who's going to step in, and what happens to the investment plans. Will we still buy ER or is there a deal in the background to extricate himself from this shoddy FL, GFH and everything else MC thinks is conspiring against him. Not understanding Redfearn, his tactics, his strategy, his team selection and of course his lack of experience. He has (On paper) a better squad than the last 4 managers yet we are just above the relegation zone, and we haven't been there even with Warnock or McD. Would Warnock have made a better fist of things with this squad?
What a load of tosh this superstitious thing is. I agree with 60, more local games the better for the faithfull supporters Morning all
One way or another Redfearn is going to be replaced before the start of next season, that is unless he can go on an amazing win streak that is highly unlikely although the 4 points in the last two games must have given the team a bit of confidence. I said a while back I believe there will always be an excuse why Cellino does not buy the ground back, some might be valid others maybe more questionable. He might have played well in that game, I never saw it so can't comment but since his move to Huddersfield in 2013 he has played 45 games and scored just 5 goals.
Where loans are concerned and having to go with who is actually available in January - Bolton are set to sign Adam le Fondre on loan. Surely he is proven at this level, would he not be a better option and target than many of the others we seem to be linked with?
What would Le fondre bring to the table that we dont already have I think hes no better than Sharpe what we need is someone who can head a ball a pest in the box
If we sign a striker which seems likely then we are more than likely getting Cani or Pavoletti - both of whom we had to Wiki to find out who they were and both are unproven to English Championship football. Le Fondre knows where the back of the net is, he is proven at this level where Cani or Pavoletti are unknown. If they are no better than Doukara or Antenucci it is a complete waste of time. Please note I did clearly say "Going with who is available" and please remember they have to be on loan or free so we are always going to be limited with who we can get. I don't mind having a bet with you that if Le Fondre does sign for Bolton he will get more goals than Cani or Pavoletti assuming we sign one of them and if we don't he will certainly get more than Morison.
According to Tutto Mercato Web, Leeds United are poised to complete the loan addition of Palermo's French midfielder Granddi Ngoyi. The former Paris Saint-Germain youngster, now 26, was a mainstay in the Palermo side last season as the club returned to Serie A. Yet now, Ngoyi has played just 71 minutes of Serie A football this season, and is set to move to Elland Road in search of first-team football. TMW also suggest that, should Ngoyi impress Neil Redfearn and co in West Yorkshire, a permanent deal could be on the cards - but it won't come cheap. They report that Palermo have inserted a clause in the loan deal where Leeds can buy Ngoyi for €2m (£1.5m) at the end of the season.
Ristac you just dont get it we need someone who can cause aerial problems someone who frightens defenders Le Fondre is not that type of player .Le Fondre feeds off the type of player I am talking about thats why I recommended Matt Smith in Feb 2012 he bwill cause cmistakes in the defence and obviuosly Cani and Pavotretti are that ilk of player
1) Please don't tell me I don't get it because it is your opinion that we require an aerial threat. 2) For an aerial threat we need to supply good quality crosses 3) We need someone who can score goals, it doesn't matter if it is feet or head. 4) Why is Cani that type of player, do you know he has scored 8 goals in two season, that is 8 in last 50 matches? 5) Do you know Leonardo Pavoletti is the same height as Steve Morison both are 6' 2" 6) Do you know Souleymane Doukara is 6' 4" tall the same height as Cani 7) What YOU don't get is that we have an embargo, we can only sign loan or free players 8) It is my opinion that I would rather have proven players given number 7 above than untested and unheard of players. Matt Smith is playing in league one now, I hardly see a host of clubs trying to snap him up. You and maybe a few others believe we should have kept him but your beloved Cellino decided to sell him. You seem to believe that to be a threat in the air all you need is to be a 6' 4" giant, so if you are 6' tall and quick you are not able to pull away from a defender and meet a perfect cross with your head? Explain why Doukara isn't being used and why we signed him if height is all it takes and why you believe Cani will be better than Doukara when Cani has only scored 8 in his last 50.
Doukara is useless IMO.........6.4 and he can't head the ball, he bottles the tackle as well, and the biggest joke is that we actually paid money for him.
