I was playing Devil's Avocado, mate, merely pointing out possibilities to all the boys and girls. In the real world I don't see that as a practical or possible solution, do you? Neither do I think there's even an outside chance that you and I will convert to Hinduism.
Well here is my tuppence worth on this subject, OK so I won't disagree that religion or the way it's taught or interpenetrated is not part of a problem here. The real problem is us, the human race. The thing that makes us amazing is we all have differing opinions from the football teams we support, the food we eat, the way we deal with plus interact with people and a thousand other things that make us all unique. This is also in some cases our weakness and our downfall. If we are not fighting over religion then we are fighting over land, money, sport or any other issues that we feel insecure about or threatened by. It's the human way. I'm agnostic but I just try to live my life and get on with everyone. We only get one shot at this amazing trip called life, that's fact!. As much as all this sucks if we managed to abolish all religion I can bet you the human race will find something else to be having petty squabbles and wars about. It's the human way!
Really? Exaggeration for effect mate. Rather like your stuff on moderation on here. Nah, got caught up eating the Sunday roast and drinking the Pinot Noir. Then taking the dog out to walk off the sunday roast and pinot noir. Just a bit irritated with myself as I had sworn off this thread due to a completely cretinous post way further back, and I weakened. I'm lucky that I feel no restriction or embarrassment about expressing my 'intolerance' on here. It's obvious that others, who may have other 'intolerances' self censor for whatever reason. Of course its not a proper debate because we rarely, if ever, have people on here arguing from a 'faith' perspective. Which is encouraging, in a way.....
No chance, what is now called the "United Kingdom" will almost certainly no longer exist and will quite probably be mainly Muslim by then anyway. (all depending the mad zionists don't go for their Samson Option of course) You will be long dead of course either way as will all of us so who gives a ****.
I believe there are only three intolerances now permitted under new government legislation, Stan: intolerance of religion (particularly Christianity), intolerance of the middle classes and intolerance of gingers. Being tolerant of Christianity myself, I might have a go at it sometime. The regular churchgoers I recall from my youth, as well as our local canon, sidesmen and parochial church councillor types were all quiet, decent men and women that most likely had more in common with you and I than they had that was at odds. I love walking the dog at weekends. I get up fairly early both days and take him through our local woods. When it's a cold, frosty morning, with the sun shining and you've pretty much got the woods and pathways to yourself, it's bliss; nothing like it.
All these folk on here who don't believe or have a faith or are religious, have any of you had your kids christened ?? or any get married in a church?? Just intrigued to find out as I have a mate who adamantly denies any beliefs yet is getting his son christened next Sunday. I find it a most bizarre thing. Why???
"sheite", is that Yiddish? Watched this today, made me think of you. Crazed taxi driver, religion and all
[ It's just tradition, Bob. This is officially a Christian country, but very few actually believe in it. Just leaving a vacuum for the Muslims to fill, eh Imaz?
The human race couldn't be that stupid. I may well be dead, but we will recover from religion sometime.
