I duno wouldnt be to bad on pay as you play, could thicken out the squad and is quite versatile, would rather have him and get rid of perch!!!!

 

I disagree Shearers raised arm. We know he is f**ked so lets not waste time finding it out. It's a complete waste of time and a ludicrous suggestion given our history with this kind of thing (Woodgate, Owen, Marcelino etc). And do you really think its so simple that if he gets injured we say on your way. We'd end up standing by him if he signs a contract, got through pre season, the window closes and then he's injured. Lets just save ourselves a whole load of trouble and not get involved.

Warm Pouch - I'm saying we don't give him a contract, 'invite' him for pre season, if he does well then we offer him a pay as you play contract. He's too good of a player not to... Yes we have been stung by signing injured players in the past, but lets use the experiences and not let it happen again, no long term contacts, no signing on fees. If he wants more - we don't give him anything simple.

 

This! If like he's trying to show by the video he's getting over the problem and getting fit then he'd be a great signing. People didn't have a problem with Ba when realistically one bad blow to the knee and he could end up not playing again. Smith does **** all for 60k, Offer him 10k with more for appearances. Doesn't play then it's only 10k and i'm assuming he'll retire at the end of the season if he can't get fit again..so sign him as a coach. He's too good a player not to risk in my opinion, just take a look on the Man Utd board they were all gutted he left and expect him to go to a big club

Always thought he was overrated and didn't do well as everyone claims in 2006, so no thanks.

 

I watched some, the one on a treadmill is impressive, want to try it at the gym. scared of looking like a it though when I fall over running backwards !

But he's free....we can sell Smith + Guthrie and then we've made money! He's better than Gosling as well, great back up for Tiote. But i see your point i'd rather see a RW + ST come in first then a versatile Defender..better than Perch!

 

Are you Mike Ashley? Sell Guthrie and replace him with a player who wouldnt manage to play a single game on a 'pay as you play deal'?!

The money we'd get for Guthrie wouldnt justify selling him. He's a decent player and we wouldnt get much better for the money who is willing to sit on the bench.

 

Well we signed Gosling with a serious knee injury and no one complained, if he could complete a pre season with us on trial then surely he's worth the risk?

 

Wasn't Gosling 20, where as Hargreaves is 31, and hasn't Gosling only had one injury totally different situations.

 

Seriously how many times do we need to do this before we learn. I'm quite happy to state now I believe we are trying to do things on the cheap and it'll blow up in our face. Signing Hargreaves is just a waste of time. It's a waste of time even getting him in to have a look. He is finished. Why waste our time? People are raving about Gosling and ben Arfa being like two new signings. gosling is yet to convince he'll ever come back. We waited ages last season, took it very slowly with him and within 2 games he was crocked. Ben Arfa had a really serious injury and may never hit his levels again. I actually believe he will but there are no guarantees. Marveaux has a shocking injury record has had to have a multitude of groin operations. Hasn't played since November! Ba has a dodgy knee. For me I think we've taken in our fair share of risky signings, signing Hargreaves who is already confirmed as done and dusted is just fool hardy.
