Why only the first 27, why not the first 37. Most fighters have 20 or so fights before they hit the big time.

Baring in mind Tyson was very young aswell, when he won the world title he was the youngest ever. So your holding it against him that he wasn't sent to the top table earlier?

The reason he had a lot of fights so soon is because he knocked everyone out so quickly, so barely felt like he'd been in a match. So he could fight again a few weeks later

Which highlights the fact that he fought very very few fighters of any note whatsoever, he made his name by beating fighters who were little better than bums off the street, the people he did beat who were of any quality were either waaay past their best or simply overawed by the reputation. No one is denying Tyson was not a fearsome fighter who on occasion was electrifying, but he was a puncher, a brawler, he had no plan B ever. Any boxer who could withstand Tyson's early round onslaughts would go on to win the fight against Tyson. Ali, Foreman and Frazier would have all beaten him with something to spare.

The reason he had so many fights so soon was so stupid ****s like you could slaver over the amount of knockouts he had. Ffs mate have you ever heard of any other boxer having 15 fights In a year?

This is just getting stupid, Tyson was the youngest ever heavyweight champion, and he was the first in a decade to be the undisputed champion unifying the belts.

His skill and talent was unmatched and he had effectively ripped through the whole division at the age of 21. Within 3 years of being a professional he became the biggest name in the sport.

He's also the only heavyweight champion to come back from a 4 year absence, and capture the title again. He won 2 more titles after jail!

Nothing he has done has been close to being accomplished again, and no one in history has ever ripped through the heavyweight division in the way Tyson did.

At the age of 20 he was world champion ffs, do you guys not realise just what an achievement that is, especially for a heavyweight.

Apart from Ali there has never been a bigger name in boxing!

That's because nobody else could KO opponents in the way Tyson could. I bet if you counted how many rounds he did that year, it wouldn't be many.

No need to wait 3 months for another fight, when he's not got a mark on him after killing his opponent inside a couple of minutes
