I found this link, could be the same as yours Ristac. Apparently we're also interested in signing Rodolph Austin, hope he's a better shooter than the one we've got. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...tml?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490
I just assumed the rumours thread was more for the umpteen targets a week we are linked at bringing in. More juice to this one, pretty obvious that Pearce has no future, also N'goyi pictured in the Leeds shop, Austin would be the obvious straight replacement, yes all rumours until official but did anyone complain about Warnock set to leave for Derby thread? Difference is??? Just inviting thoughts, I am hoping Pearce is the sacrifice and we keep Wootton Austin, I just don't know, can't make my mind up but I do like the sound of N'goyi
I was forgetting that the Sunday Mail don't make it up like all of the other papers! Fair point about the Warnock thread. Taken on board. Have to say I disagree about Austin, though. N'Goyi is a DM, I understand. Austin seems to be doing much better of late now that he's been pushed forward. Then again, since when did logic play a part under Redders regime?
Sorry my last reply was a bit short and sharp, didn't mean it to sound that way... I agree the Mail no different to others but you just get a feel there could and probably is something in this one. It was your previous report and opinions amongst a few others on Austin that changed me from a sell him to sitting on the fence. I am just trying to imagine what Redfearn is thinking when it comes to where N'goyi is going to slot in.
He's probably thinking "WTF am I supposed to do with this guy"? And you weren't sharp, btw. A little paranoid, perhaps?
I think due to the embargo restrictions we have, Pearce and Austin leaving would tie in with the 2 in and 2 out replacement allowance, if it happens of course. I think I might be able to help with that one Ristac, Discard Redders academy boys of Mowatt, Cook and Byram in midfield, and what's left (Cellino signings) are the ones Redders will look at to replace with N'Goyi.... WJ, Without looking back, isn't Bambi the DM and N'Goyi the attacking mid player?
LL, just noticed this article. Forgot about it. Conforms that Bamba is a CB - and in the same article, Redders deliberately omits Wootton from the list of CBs in competition for a berth. http://www.leedsunited.com/news/article/u8uj8spn7qeo1fotoxs60136v/title/null?
Bamba is definitely a CB. We've had some foxes fans coming on here giving us a low down on him. Morning all by the way.
If Austin goes along with Pearce and Warnock that means we have lost 3 players from the squad so Im thinking perhaps there is another signing on his way to balance the books
I could be wrong but I think we were allowed three loans with the embargo in place when you took into account squad size, age/appearances of players. Warnock leaving means we still have place for two more after N'goyi and Bamba - I personally believe Pearce is just surplus to requirements and if we can cash in now we will do, I can't see us bringing in another 2 players on loan, 4 in total but who knows.
With the arrival of Bamba we can afford to say bye bye to Pearce, not so sure we can afford to lose Austin. Where might this N'goyi play?
Think you're on the right lines, Ristac. I remember Redders saying before the window that we could bring in 4 loans. I knew we still were able to sign 1, having already signed 4, but I had no idea where he'd conjured up the other 3 from. It just never occurred to me that we'd been permitted 3 more because of the embargo. Actually, with Warnock leaving, that should leave us 5 loans available, less the 2 we've already signed so far, leaving 3 available! Plus all the loophole stuff of course, should we wish to take advantage of it..
The last couple of games we have looked a better outfit, I just hope we don't bring in too many new faces and unsettle the squad
Latics are set to announce the signing of Leeds United centre back Jason Pearce after the two clubs agreed a fee for the former Portsmouth and Bournemouth skipper. Read more: http://www.wigan.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=386305#ixzz3Q8aCmi5S
You mean we actually get money for him? I don't know who's doing our negotiating these days, but I want to have his children!
