I've just seen s picture of the Blackpool strip for the game. They wear a shirt with a tangerine bar sinister, which basically says that they are bastards. Some designers need to check their heraldry, though it does seem appropriate in Oyston's case.
Well I got our score right, just didn't see Blackpool scoring, have we finally arrived this season? Are we going to be the WFC of the second half for the rest of the season and banish the inconsistency to the locker room? I hope so, I believe so, that glass is definitely half full....
Horrific first half display everyone talking about lack of consistency and how this was typical of us against the bottom team etc etc and then......!!!!!! Unbelievable stuff, we just ripped them apart. This is how we can play when we just go for it up front. It was fantastic and we must be able to go into Friday on an incredible high after this. Deeney was brilliant and several times setting up Ighalo who was always in the right place and even Vydra got in on the act. Not sure whether it was Watson, the formation change or just a reaction via the manager that got us going but who cares!
Blimey . Talk about inconsistent from one game to another, this was the tale of two halves. Woeful in the first, but scintillating in the second. I thought B'pool were over physical in the first half and the ref let a lot go, so I'm glad they lost. The only thing to make it better would have been their number 9 being sent off (which he deserved). Bournemouth won't be as physical and if we play like last week and the second half today we are in with more than a shout. COYH
WOW! That really was a game of 2 halves. Slav said he didn't really say a lot at half time but whatever it was clearly worked! Don't think I've ever seen us come out that fired up and really on the front foot. 1st half was a non event - but credit to players for fighting back so well. Must be close to some kind of record.. A crazy afternoon on what seems to have been one full of strange results! Some will say we cannot defend like that against better sides which is true but enjoy the result and comeback for now.
In the first half we couldn't string two passes together. We lacked any cohesion and rarely found any scoring opportunities. Whatever was said or done at half time made an incredible change to the players attitude. Right from the start they came out with a new sense of purpose . after the first goal the belief returned and the play flowed. Ighalo took his goals well but credit must go to Troy for some unselfish play. What a transformation.
I think the early goal back helped. And when the second went in you could see the confidence draining out of Blackpool. Does anyone else think Blackpool were dirty, or am I being over sensitive? It's up to the ref to clamp down, and I don't think he did.
Well done on your game of two halves, we had a game of no halves, I can't remember seeing us play worse, why, oh why when we have a stream do we have to play so badly?
A friend tells me that someone sat near him left at half time having vented his spleen at the team and head coach. Listening to Joka after the game, he had worked out that we needed an extra body in mid-field so brought on Watson and allowed Vydra a more attacking role. Maybe he is a good tactician after all.
