I swear the linesman is flagging every time we attack just for the hell of it. The only other explanation for the number of offsides is that the team have forgotten the rule exists.
6 players in the box for a corner, 4 of them are still on the goal-line when the initial cross is cleared. What is the point?
We've got off lightly today. This should have been 4/5-1, with us down to 10 men or less. Neil doesn't appear to have achieved anything but make our players more hot-headed on the pitch.
i really dont know what to say after watching this, amateurish at best, i dont know why we even bother appointing a manager may as well let them sort themselves out, well done brentford you deserve the points.
I'm almost glad that Whittaker played and had a shocker today. If a "normal" line-up had played that badly today I'd have had to well and truly abandon all hope of us getting out of this division any time soon. Absolutely awful.
that was IMO the most woeful display for some time - if not for their awful finishing first half we would have been buried by 15 minutes in.
I see the okey cokey is back in fashion. Not a good day at the office for you budgies, at least your 100+ point total is still achievable...........just.
Can't just be missing Howson and Tettey. The players were sloppy, the system was awful. Saving graces - maybe we will see Bassong and Turner hook up in the middle. Cuellar has played well at times but all these penalties are killing us.
theres a very good reason for that, why the hell was whitaker playing there? no pace and no finesse with the ball, i dont blame the player why was he playing him there? We need someone who could pass not another bully with Johnson on there also..
Well that knocked the stuffing out of us. We started with both Scottish players it looked risky it back fired & we didn't fix the problem. Too many stupid pens and we look a mess .. Disaster.
Poor performance. But we had our chances to scrape a draw. But then again as previous posters have said Brentford were wasteful in front of goal too. Jerome unlucky with his volley, after Bradders hit the bar, but it was a great save from their keeper.
In his defence I would say most have been very very soft. But he and Turner does not work well as a partnership. It could do if we played in a more controlled manner and less attacking. They could soak up pressure well, however they are so susceptible to counter-attacks when we lose possession. Yet again there was a lack of tempo, even the passes were not hit with any pace and that really set the tone for the performance. Brentford were unspectacular but worked hard and were well organised and you cant begrudge them a win. I would say though that you can't blame the manager for ever bad performance. At some point the players must take some responsibility. They were out worked for two thirds of the game today and that is inexcusable.
Honestly? Who else was available? Tettey, O'Neil and weren't in the squad, so must be injured, and Howson is suspended. Hoolahan, McGrandles, Odjidja-Ofoe (whatever the hell has happened to him?) are all attacking midfielders and not DMs, Elliott Bennett was shocking in central midfield against Crawley, I don't even want to imagine how bad he would have been. There isn't anyone else. There's plenty of angles from which to attack today's performance, but we literally only had one fit central midfielder today. I really cannot think of a formation that can work against a 4-2-3-1 when Johnson is your only defensive midfield option.
