Anybody optimistic about this one? The only grounds for optimism that I can see come from the second-half performance against Cardiff, which showed how under-performing we have been under Bob. My money says that we will continue to underperform, Guy Luzon doesn't seem the right fit. My advice to Katrien would be to travel on a later train to avoid disgruntled fans. I imagine Roland will pick a team something like: Dmitrovic; Solly; TBH; Bikey; Wiggins; Gudmundsson; Buyens; Veljkovic; Cousins; Igor; Watt. depending on Igor's and Jacko's fitness.
Luzer likes to play long ball football but we do not have a big strong centre forward??... umm .... could be interesting ..... or poor... not sure which?

I said last week we could get a result as teams with a new boss often tend to...obviously he wasn't in charge so tomorrow is the day, 1-0 Watt. Never been to Molineux before, anyone else heading up there?
I am optimistic too. I think the "new manager" effect will kick in and we will only lose 0-2 this time.
Having seen who the referee is I think you are being over optimistic. However there is achance that he could declare the pitch frozen and call the matchoff!

Just back. I feel a lot more positive today than last week, although of course it would have been hard not to. My expectations were so low that a point feels almost like a win. If nothing worked against Watford, then at least the defence did today. Bikey was still prone to some sloppy moments, and needlessly got himself booked right at the end in a scuffle with Dicko, but there were few real scares otherwise. The new keeper was seldom tested and appears to be a graduate of the Dean Kiely school of kicking, but dealt competently with everything he had to do. Solly was imperious, particularly in the second half, and is a worthy captain of Charlton Athletic. Veljkovic didn't really impress as he's very left-footed and quite slow in possession. We surely don't need both him and Buyens in the middle, especially if Buyens is as poor as he was today. You can often see what he's trying to do, be it a cushioned pass or an attempt at a deft flick, but they almost never come off. JBG spread his usual cross-field passes around and Cousins fought hard, exhausting himself in the process but doing well to frustrate the Wolves players and crowd. I've said this before about Harriott: I cannot fault his effort and lungs but his touch is poor and he gets shoved off the ball too easily. Vetokele was a pest for the Wolves defenders but still can't recapture his early-season form. BWP went through a similar spell, I remember. Watt came on and weaved his way through the defence for a chance which was blocked behind and generally got the Charlton fans on our feet, though he still looks somewhat unfit, which is a worry. He was fuming on one occasion when the keeper didn't play it long to him, but they smiled about it after the final whistle, so hopefully the bad attitude we've heard about is improving. A draw was a fair result today as we managed to contain Wolves reasonably comfortably. That in itself is a positive, but there is still much to do if we are to turn our form around.
Can't add much to what Captain has said, Wolves lacked any real creativity and it looked like being a 0-0 early on. Vetokele's form is a real worry but he still looked better than Church, I'm fed up of watching him do f*** all of importance, we need to win a few more games this season to be safe...playing him won't help with that. Solly is an unbelievable player, way too good for us.
After last week, this was a real result. No great shakes as we still can't score goals, but maybe a small corner turned. Once again, we are in turmoil mid season with a new manager,, but at least for the momento he seems to have got them to start to be a team again. Difficult to believe this was a team we thought would be challenging for the play offs a few months back, but if we can learn to defend and alternate with meaningfull attacking play, at least we may avoid a relegation scrap. Fairly happy this morning, light years from last weeks nightmare.
Maybe you did. I think most thought our position flattered us. Still, I think posters here are bit curmudgeonly. Had it been another Watford we would have had twenty posts telling us what an awful exhibition. I only heard it on Player so not much to go on, but it certainly sounded as everyone tried their hardest, and it was a good result as Wolves have found some form lately. Let's give Guy and the lads credit where due.
B&M's right, it was a very good point, everybody would have taken it at 3 o'clock. The team had become shambolic recently under Bob and a change of manager was right. A period of silence on the subject from Katrien would be welcome now.
If they keep up this level of commitment I may change my handle to "Mild and Bitter". It was my usual tipple for twenty years.. Do they still sell draught mild in London pubs?
Haven't seen it for ages. In my only trip to Molyneux we tried the local brew which was Banks' mild. It was recommended by the Wolves fans, who were a very friendly lot, and was excellent. We lost 3--0 but had a good day out.
Just watched the highlights. I was quite impressed by the way Dmitrovic manhandled Bikey away from trouble when it appeared the red mist was coming down following what he considered to be a dive by a Wolves player. Not many would fancy restraining the Beast when he's in this mood.
