I hate playing lower league opposition as they are a really big Banana skins with all the pressure on us, This game will be a tough one with Blackburn being a big club who really should be in the top league. We are going to need everyone to focus on this game and forget about the Liverpool game coming up and put the Chelsea game behind us, Im hoping for a win but it wont surprise me if we lose...2-1 swans..

I went on a couple of Blackburn forums and although most of their fans recognised we should win this game I noticed some saying we were a "mediocre" Premiership side and that it was understandable if they couldn't get a crowd tomorrow because we're "not much of a draw". <grr> Most were bitching about the cost of a ticket as well. Grumpy northern gits. :emoticon-0172-mooni

I really hope we stuff them tomorrow. I want to see big performances from Gomis and Naughton in particular.

Get real, we are not a big draw. They would have been hoping for Man U, Man City, Arsenal etc, not us, so you can understand their comments.

Why have you got to blame some one? Losing is an integral part of sport and as a supporter you need to accept that fact.

Laudrup probably, for having set the bar at such a high level that the likes of Monk can only dream of emulating. <laugh>

That's life - no matter what happens there always has to be someone at fault. Blame Culture - it's just the way it is :

    It's always someones fault ( or Dai's).:emoticon-0136-giggl

Again it depends how seriuosly GM takes the cup. If we put a strongish side out then we should have enough. If he gives all the youngsters a game then we could well be in trouble. I believe after the Chelsea debacle we should be playing our strongest team and getting back to winning ways. Who knows what GM will do though. I do expect to see Montero, Shelvey and naughton. The rest will probably be drawn out of a hat.

**** sake, this is the match day thread, no need to mention previous managers here <ok>

This will be a tough game today. I hope Monk sends out a strong line up to win the game first then possibly introduce Oliviera and Grimes with 15-20 minutes to go. Is Naughton available for the game too? If so, it would be nice to see him have a run out towards the end of the game.

Personally, I'd keep him on the bench and only play him if needed.

Thank you for the advice Mr White but I think you've missed the point a bit. I'd have thought that the 'real' view is that they are playing against an established Prem side that play attractive football and against whom they may well get a result. That should put bums on seats I'd have thought. They'd get a bigger crowd against Man U, City or Arsenal but would be more likely to lose. They could have got Cambridge in this draw.

I don't normally take offence at the rubbish that comes out most football supports mouths but I do when my Club is referred to as 'mediocre' by fans of a Championship side 20 places below us. :emoticon-0121-angry Yes I hope we stuff the buggers today.

As for blaming someone it's only natural. There is no way we should not be able to beat Blackburn today and if we don't then it will be someone's fault. They get the plaudits so they must accept criticism if it's warranted.

    Teams are,
Blackburn Rovers XI: Eastwood, Henley, Duffy, Kilgallon, Olsson, Taylor, Lowe, Williamson, Conway, Cairney, King
Subs: Steele, Hanley, Dunn, Brown, Rhodes, Marshall, Gestede
Swansea City XI: Fabianski, Rangel, Bartley, Amat, Tiendalli, Carroll, Shelvey, Dyer, Sigurdsson, Barrow, Gomis
Subs: Tremmel, Naughton, Fernandez, Fulton, Emnes, Montero, Oliveira

Wish he had started naughton in a game like this, what is the point of him sitting on the bench. Is the side strong enough to win. I suppose we should have to much for them. Just hope the 2 centre halves are up for it today.

Surprised Naughton isn't starting but he's only just arrived so that may be something to do with it. That team should win this game bearing in mind Gestede and Rhodes are both out for Blackburn.
