PALERMO say five clubs are battling to sign their £44million-rated Argentine playmaker Javier Pastore.
The Italian club's president, Maurizio Zamparini, claims Real Madrid, Malaga, Chelsea, Manchester United and their neighbours City are fighting over the 22-year-old's signature.

Good attacking player, and very young. Don't know about how good his defensive duties are though. Any fans who know more about this lad?

Bought buy sugar-daddys. They're the spanish man city, they just have to compete with Barca and Real, not L'arse and 'Pool

Oh right. Well I don't know much about Pastore but we really need a new central midfielder or 2 and I have heard good things about him.

    £44m though? Ouch!

What people ask for and what people expect can be two very different things. They'll probably accept a lower bid if nobodys willing to pay full asking price.

I want him to replace Fabregas. Be interesting to see how Malaga do against Barca and Madrid in the coming years, the sugar daddy approach is the only way to get close to them it seems.

They have made some very good signings so far and they haven't spent ridiculous amounts like Man City have. I think they will come 4th this season behind Barca, Real and Atletico <party>

Villareal and Valencia are still too strong I think for another team to overtake them. Things aren't going that well for you guys are they? You think Aguero will go to Real Madrid?

I don't know much about the guy but he must be decent if United, Madrid and Chelsea are after him but no way on earth, is he worth £44 million.

Im not saying he is or he isnt, but how do you know hes not 44m if you " don't know much about the guy "? if henderson is 20m for example hes well worth 44m, hes great player with great potential.

My opinion is that no player is worth 44million. Well maybe Messi. That view seems to be outdated though as the influence of the likes of Real Madrid and Man city drive prices ever higher.

I'd pay £44 million for Ronaldo, Messi, Iniesta at a push, but thats about it. But then again, maybe our valuations have to change with the times.

He reminds me of Kaka, he's got that same incredible acceleration and is very direct, just runs at goal when he gets the ball.
