So why all the moaning at wenger for coming 4th fro gooners? And 4th is not a trophy...by any standards it aint a trophy...so why claim it as one as wenger did? I am an old bastard...give me a trophy over 4th any day. yep i am in a minority of football fans...but stuffing you lot 5-1 in the semi final and beating chelsea in the final was more memorable than going out in the 1/4 finals of the CL. the CL was fun but if we had it every year at the expense of a trophy it would not be memorable. Apart from the teams that can win it the CL is simply a money making venture for clubs.
It makes me laugh the way that fans from the club who glorify failure talk about Arsenal 'failing' in the Champions League, when all of them would chew off their right bollock to be in that competition.
Any cup over 4th...I have kids who remember 2008 cup win over 2010 cl 4th place. my youngest was only 6 then and my eldest was 10...we couldnt get tickets but set up camp in our front room...we put up all their spurs scarfs, pictures, other memorabilia and my old programmes and shirts all over the room and sat in our shrine and screamed the house down as we won.it reminded me of watching spurs in the 81cup final...we still chat about it A few weeks later we went to the lane and got a photo done with the trophy. Thats the point of football to me...great memories, trophies etc. Not money for clubs...but like I said each to their own... and I am in a tiny minority
I have a photo of me and my son with the FA Cup and PL Trophy after our last double year. Priceless. I wouldn't want a photo of us being 4th as that isn't winning anything - it just means we have made the CL.
Genuinely hope you get as much enjoyment from your picture with your kids as I do from mine mate...still hope you lose to brighton though But you won't
I agree with this. However it is not an either/or as Arsenal proved last year (finally ) and most Arsenal fans on here were not happy until a trophy was run (briefly ). But I wouldn't dismiss CL as just money making. Bale's hattrick against Inter and winning the reverse game and the 1-0 over Milan were among my favourite memories. Winning a cup is the priority but I want us to mix with the top teams as well. Call me greedy.

Aaron Lennon signing for Everton on a loan...Remember when Spurs fans used to go on about him being better than Walcott, lol.
A bit patronising. Lennon is still an excellent player, doesn;t seem to fit with our manager, but he will do well with Everton.
Not patronising just my opinion - I don't think he was ever that good as his final ball and choices were poor compared to other similar players. I think Andres Townsend is better that Lennon
In what world is he an "excellent player?" He's quick and a decent dribbler with poor end product. There are dozens of these kind of players out there.
Levy running **** scared of West Ham http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...locked-by-Tottenham-chairman-Daniel-Levy.html
If you see him live, you will see how good he is at covering the fullback, how good he is at creating space for others with clever runs - the stuff that doesn't make MOTD highlights. Martinez is no fool, he has signed him for a reason, and Spurs fans in general are very sad to see him go.
Fair enough. To be honest, you've seen him far more than I have so your opinion probably holds more weight than my own. However, from what I've seen of him over the years, I've not been overly impressed with him. Not suitable for a club with Champions League aspirations. And with all due respect to Everton, he's probably around his level.
