Can't help thinking that one or two Leicester City fans are getting a little carried away. I've no problems with fans getting behind their team and Leicester seem to have a good support.....but there's a fella on here talking about Europe! Good luck to you brother but don't you want to walk before get your running shoes out?

The difference is...........your whistling in the dark... hoping to keep your top player out of our clutches......that is the limit of the bristol city ambition...wonderful..........if millen hangs on to him it will be hailed as "a great" victory.........LCFC whatever you think of the club, are thinking big...bigger even than mr. maynard.........or mr.CMS............if they choose to miss the boat, so be it....we will find bigger fish to fry.............watch and see,and celebrate keeping mr. maynard.........deep down you wish it was you..............

CMS is quoted in the papers today as saying..

"Leicester city weren't on me radar, big club my arse, wouldn't even **** on em"

I suppose that says it all really.

We are after Maynard again now and will offer around 4M. Before you say Maynard isnt interested, yes he may have said that i dont know but when he talks to Sven and we offer him 25-30K a week he would have to be stupid not to consider it. So dont count your chickens just yet

My sentiments exactly, as previosly posted his season last year was crap, OK he scored some but missed out on more than half the season, but finished like a damp squib a bit. Another 5 goals and well yes, £5m.

City even without NM is quite strong up front, they need that central midfielder to gel the supply line.

Defence is not that bad, we could survive with that....but one man short at the moment....wiggers has probably got a few ideas up his sleeve!!!

So with 1 year on his contract and a bad injury past wouldnt you want to sell him for 4M. You can get a decent replacement plus strengthen another area of your squad with a good player with that money

Or he can walk away for nothing in a years time

So you would rather lose him for nothing and not be able to get a decent replacement, if you accept the money you could get a Billy Sharp or someone. At the end of the down its down to the 2 clubs and Maynard what happens. With his injury past if think he will jump at the chance to get a massive wage packet because he knows one more injury could mean the end of his career

£4M or more would be too big for us to turn down I'm sure, there's a lot of strengthening we could do with that money. No one wants to lose their best players but you've got to be realistic.

If Leicester or any one else comes up with that sort of cash then fair enough. As I've said before I'd like to see the lad step up to the Premier League now or, preferably, stay with us. I thought that the CMS deal with Leicester was as good as done and it's interesting that he chose to go to Brighton instead........maybe Leicester ain't the big draw some of their fans seem to think they are.

We pulled out of the CMS deal after David Nugent agreed to sign for us. West Ham also pulled out as they thought the fee was excessive. We are all glad we didnt sign him as 3M is alot of money for a player who has only ever scored goals in league 1.

Also remember the statement by our chairman that Sven had £5million to fund two new strikers. Well everyone thought that ruled Mayanard out because you would never accept £2.5Million for him (obvioiusly). However with Nugent being a free, it gives Sven the whole £5million fund to spend on one striker.

Im not saying that it will defo be thrown at Maynard - just saying the facts appear very interesting.

I think a 4m bid with a sell on clause could seal it, the decision would then lie with Maynard. His missus has just had a little un so this might affect his decision. I hope he stays but if he does go and Millen gets 1 or 2 quality (and I do mean quality) defenders with the 4m, then I'd be relatively happy.

CMS......"quoted as saying"......yeah right......total garbage.........much like most of what bristol city fans say regarding maynard.....wake up....where are your big signings? your chairman just can't compete...fact...even brighton are spending money....what will you spend..........zip...........until LCFC supply your club with a few quid your not in the market...anyway don't be selfish....we want to help crewe out ...they get 20% of the fee......if maynard signs on again with bristol..he might as well wear a sign......ive given up.............

So it appears another bid has been rejected today from an unnamed club who BC had also rejected a bid from 2 weeks ago. Well its obvious its Leicester isnt it really. I wish Maynard would tie his colours to his post otherwise this saga could drag!

We'll need time to get an adequate replacement, so Maynard should be given until the end of the week to sign or for him to be shipped off to Leicester.

He's one of the best players we've had in years, but he's stalled for too long and it reflects badly on his commitment to us. Hopefully by the end of next week Maynard will either be a red or a blue. To be honest I think Leicester lucked out on getting Sven in and I'll happily tip them now for promotion; if Leicester do land Maynard I'll put a bet on it.
