Never really enjoyed the transfer thread so I thought I'd put this one here considering it involves 3 players. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...hamed-Salah-and-Andre-Schurrle-near-exit.html The Telegraph normally has an okay sports section (despite the fact many of its rumour articles mirror those on the Daily Mail) and this is quite an interesting one in my opinion. Salah seemed to be to be perhaps one of our oddest pieces of business done last season. Always happy to sign young players with potential but for me, shipping out De Bruyne and Mata for Salah seemed like a very large trade-off. Even if we assume Fabregas to be the delayed (and in my opinion vastly superior) replacement for Mata, I have seen nothing to make me believe that Salah was ever or could ever be a better player than De Bruyne. I wish him well however even if he is to stay until the end of the season. Andre Schurrle is a real shame to lose. I fear inconsistencies in his form have meant that he just can't touch the front 3 we have at the moment. He would turn in a two goal performance, and then be subbed off at half time (indeed I think this happened earlier in the season). I have always been a fan of him however. That said, I reckon we can easily make a profit on him were we to sell and I don't think he is adding enough to the team for this to be a disaster for Chelsea. Now, Cuadrado. I am afraid I don't believe I have seen him play. With questions over Willian in the final third however, could he be a replacement in the first team for him?
I'm not too happy to lose Schurrle either, he is a good player and I was impressed with him at the world cup too. Salah not all that fussed about. Don't know anything about Cuadrado as I aint too keen on Italian football, he any good?
Not easy to judge players who hardly ever start. Sarah must have something going for him, but has had bugger all chance to show it. Shurrle ,it seems to me,just can't seem to find the right blend of players up front to suit him. he is undoubtably talented and has a WC medal to prove it. For my money, I think the 2 I'd let go are Salah and Willian who just frustrates the hell out of me. Also not a huge fan of Ramires nor Mikel anymore. They both do a job but don't set the world alight. I think the midfield is still potentially troublesome, though we have enough players to put out a good team each week. I expect quite a few changes at seasons end and with Cesc having to carry the director roll week in and out, would not be surprised to see someone like Pogba join us. Keepers for me, excluding out and out strikers, are Cesc, Matic, Hazard, Oscar Schurrle I'd add Ake in the Matic/Mikel position meaning we need one more winger and a Cesc playalike. Isn't it easy being a computer manager !! By the way, never heard of Cuadrado !!
Can't agree on this one, being part of a squad wich is arguably the best in the premiership one has to take the chance when it comes. Salah has been found wanting and always seems to choose the wrong option. As to Shurrie he is worth persevering with as he genuinely gas class and can finish. Willian is world class and has a better motor than Ramires, he offers us the role of a water carrier but would like to see more goals from him which I'm sure will come in time.
Just going to day I'm a big Ramires fan. Don't want to see him go CP...nor Mikel. Willian is very divisive to be fair I am not sure on exactly what I feel about him. Can a player really only play to create space for another?
I like Willian, though I would say he is probably the weakest of our AM's (Hazard, Oscar, Cesc, Schurrle, Willian I dont count Salah since he is hasn't really played). Think Schurrle, for whatever reason has not engraciated himself to Jose and so isn't getting played. At the end of the day, I guess I trust Jose's judgment, he sees him train every day, like when he made the call on Mata, he obviously sees something he isnt keen on.
I saw some clips on YouTube. Looks a class act but YouTube can be misleading. Jose obviously thinks he's good.
Cuadrado is an excellent player from what I've seen of him. Miles better than Salah with a better end product than Willian. Schurrle needs a run of games before we sell him, it'd be unfair to base his season on the scraps of minutes he's been given as we all know what he's capable of. I imagine Schurrle will be sold if we're bringing in Cuadrado as he's not going to come cheap and let's face it we won't get a lot for Salah.
I Agree. Salah just doesn't cut it for me. Schurrle is a very good player and deserves more game time IMO. Willian frustrates me. Great work rate but gives the ball away far too easily for my liking.
just seen his stats. he's basically a slower willian isn't he? we do need balance in our midfield 3, but if we are going to upgrade, surely with someone who gets more goals and assists than what we already have. salah is awful, he needs to go. if andre wants to leave and play more, thats fine. I think hed make it eventually, but 27 million for him is a great deal-and we can deffo get better wingers than him
Don't know much about this Cuadrado fella so can't really comment on him but echo what others have said. Schurrle is worth keeping, Salah can go. I'd be looking at Reus myself with his contract soon to be up though.
I'm quite up on Cuadrado. He started out as a right midfielder, sometimes playing RWB for Udinese. He's quick on and off the ball, dribbles well and can pass decently enough for a winger. Joint top assists at the World Cup with Kroos, so not too shabby. If I was to give him a description, he'd be Willian with an end product. Just what we need. As for Salah and Schurrle, I'd not mind losing both if it meant we could get Cuadrado and Reus, although I'm more or likely expecting Salah to leave and Schurrle to be Reus' replacement in the summer, not that Reus will be coming the other way. I expect little Hazard to integrate into the squad next year, been hearing good things about him.
Really interesting to see how we all view the players differently. None of them are poor, some are just better than others, problem is, we can't agree which is which !!!!
He looked good at the World Cup, then again several Colombians did. I guess he's just a better fit for what Mourinho wants than some of the players currently at the club. Schurrle's obviously very good but I think he needs to play upfront if he's going to fit in with how you're playing at the moment. Salah just seems like one of those players you signed just for the sake of it, keep him as backup for a year or so and then shift him on for a similar price.
Doubtful! United can't to sign the top players any more and have to settle for overpriced sick notes and players who struggle to play a full 90 mins.
Apart from being a sick note he cant do the premiership, he's out of his depth Yes he did, well for 60 minutes that is.
