If Hull City is gone, how can anyone give up on it? Not only is Hull Tigers not the name of my club, it's an idea I actively despise. It represents everything wrong with football. The two words together is something I could never get behind.

Someone made a point on the Hull United thread that as a City fan one day chanting 'United' would feel wrong. I agree with that, and I think cheering for Hull Tigers would be far worse.

Hull City is not gone, not yet. I despise the name "Hull Tigers" just as much as you, however it does not matter what it is actually called, as to us real fans, it will always be Hull City, and we will always chant "City till I die", "Everywhere we go, everyone will know, we're Hull City", even if we are called Melton Tigers.

It does matter to me what my football team is called.

Will Hull Tigers be a suitable name for us outside the Premier League?

I asked Happy Tiger this question twice on this thread but he won't answer me.

Don't bring that into it, you've made your point about how you feel.

To me if it's not Hull City then it's not the team I support, it would be the equivalent of MK Dons to me. I've seen the argument about as long as it says Hull I'll support them, I assume these people have attended all Hull United games this season then if it doesn't matter.

You're missing my point, football and Hull City are a huge part of my life. What else would fill this void? North Ferriby United? Badminton? Cricket? I don't think so. I'm not saying let him change the name, all I am saying is support the club and fight the name change so it does not happen. However if it does, then I would consider not going, but due to it being a huge part of my life I don't think I could throw it away.

No I totally understand I'm not criticising your view, the bit I took issue with was the 'to us real fans, it will always be Hull City' it implied if I stopped going from next season because I don't see it as Hull City anymore then I'm not a 'real fan'. I'm just as fed up as everyone else about this and with my pass price about to more than double next season as I move up to the adult price I will probably end up not going unless we are relegated, this whole thing is dropped and the price goes down. I've never even considered not going to a home game before (including cup) but I'm just sick of it all.

Hull City is a name that can be used by another team if the FA agrees to Hull Tigers. It wouldn't surprise me if another club rose from the ashes of this mess and applied to be called AFC Hull City. It wouldn't surprise me if that club already exists and is currently called Hull United. Whether you support Hull Tigers or AFC Hull City would be up to you.

Yeah. People still cheer on Newton Heath, Dial Square, Small Heath and Ardwick.

Whatever happened, the FA would not allow another club to register as Hull City.

I struggle to understand that to be honest mate, our nickname is and always has been The Tigers but you'd rather chant United which has no connection with our club at all?

'United' has no connection cos we're City, not United. 'Hull Tigers' has no connection and is a horrible abomination.

So we should also consider "City The" presumably.

Now you definitely have misunderstood my point, I was criticising those who are for the name change by saying they aren't real fans, the way I worded it probably didn't help, but when you start ranting, you just can't stop. <laugh>

I'm sick of it all, but I just think by people walking away and letting Allam poison our club it will only do more harm than good. I have considered not going to games, not based on money, but based on my opinion on this situation. At the end of the day no one can tell me what I call my club, and no matter what decision is reached, it will still be Hull City A.F.C to me.

I too will be moving up age brackets, I'm hoping they freeze the prices from this season, but Allam will put the prices up, no doubt.

I tell a lie, I have a year to go. I thought it was up to 16-21, however it is 16-22. That's saved me a few bob! <cheers>

Nobody can convince me that walking away is the right thing to do, I support this football club through thick and thin. Anyone who claims people who will stand by the club if the name is changed will "Not be there in the Championship" talk crap. People I sit with at City and have done for many years choose to support the Allams, and they have been sat next to me through good and bad times no matter what league we're in.

I love Hull as a city and I love my football club, it is a huge part of my life. I aren't going to turn my back on that.
