Beat me to it. Even his Rosicky sub was spot on. He is defensively decent and one of our best players who keeps possession.
Yeah. Saw on Twitter some suggesting Ozil and Theo be brought on for Ramsey and Oxo, but Ozil would not have been suited to the gameplan at all and Rozza brought more defensive and midfield stability than Theo probably would have and despite Ramsy losing the ball a couple of times and his sharpness not being all there his relentless engine kept the midfield compact and denied City their pockets so spot on with who take bring on and take off and when to do it from Le Boss today.
Are you lot doing things in reverse this season? In seasons past you have been right up there in 1st or 2nd place until February or March then slip away. This year you have been dire for the first 4 months but seem to be getting up a head of steam at last. How far will this take you? Maybe 3rd for a change and if you beat Monaco and the QF draw is kind then maybe a SF in the CL and maybe the final!! After all "ordinary" team have got the Champions final and won - Liverpool in 2005 and Milan in 2007 were far from vintage!!!
Its possible. I think we can take Monaco and hopefully get Porto/Basel in the QFs. The Semis are a tricky affair as I'm not sure if we can take one of Real, Bayern or the like over 2 legs but in a one off like the final we can sneak a result. Still think this season will probably be FA Cup retention, Top 4 and CL QFs/Semis for us.
It's been a great day. Today was vintage Wenger out foxing his opposing manager with great tactics and quality football. I hope Wenger takes more than 3pts away from this win and understands that it's not always a **** load of possession and pretty football that wins you games. Ospina has been an inspiration in goal and the defence look better for his inclusion.
All ****ing about and rivalry aside though, just watched your match highlights on MOTD. Coquelin and Cazorla gave imperious performances. Coquelin owned that midfield, definitely one to watch if he can keep up performances like that, he may be the DM you guys have been pining for. And Cazorla!! He was untouchable! Was fantastic on the ball and outshone Sanchez. What are you going to do when Ozil is back? Because you cannot drop Cazorla after that. Were you not 13 points behind I might have said this result and performance could spur you on to compete for a title charge, but I think you may be a little too far behind now.
Cazorla is unstoppable at the moment, he can't be dropped on that form. He and Sanchez are lighting up the team.
The only downside on todays performance for me was Oxo. He continues to produce absolutely nothing once he gets into a dangerous area. He is great driving forward.. just don't ask him to score or make the right pass under pressure. Would like to see Walcott back in for the next game.
I was quite puzzled to why Cazorla was under-performing in the start of the season, he is so much better than that. He is finally showing his true class and I do hope that he doesn't make way/moved for someone else. Yesterday's team was well balanced and I would replace OXO with Walcott/Welbeck (when he's back)
Yaaaaaaaay! That's pretty much it really... bit baffled why people are saying how good Ospina is. How do you know, he's done feck all in 3 games now, must be baffling him this English game! Also, kudos to Giroud for scoring against a "big club". People can shut the f*ck up on that one from now on. Seriously though, it was a great game to watch and everyone played like a proper team rather than 11 individuals. Long may it continue.
I am still buzzing from the game - it was great to see us not only beat one of the top sides but own them with a great tactical performance, and from 1-11 everyone played well (though like PeterRick says Ospina had barely anything to do).
My god Savage is such an idiot isn't he? I'm just watching MOTD2 and he reckons that this performance was our best in the last decade!!! - I mean think about it, better than the 4-0 against AC Milan, the victories against Dortmund (twice) and Bayern, the 5-3 against Chelsea ect. He also thinks that the pen wasn't a pen, that Man C should have been running beyond Arsenals defence, despite the fact that we were sitting really deep to not allow them the space to do that, and didn't allow them time on the ball in the key areas to thread these passes.
