Just read on BBC that Catts is on 9 Yellows, I believe 1 Yellow more means a 2 game suspension, anybody know any different?
That seems right, he's picked up cards in the following: Queens Park Rangers 1 - 0 Sunderland 30/08/2014 Sunderland 0 - 0 Swansea City 27/09/2014 Southampton 8 - 0 Sunderland 18/10/2014 Sunderland 0 - 2 Arsenal 25/10/2014 Crystal Palace 1 - 3 Sunderland 03/11/2014 Leicester City 0 - 0 Sunderland 22/11/2014 Sunderland 1 - 4 Manchester City 03/12/2014 Newcastle United 0 - 1 Sunderland 21/12/2014 Aston Villa 0 - 0 Sunderland 28/12/2014
Does it not stop at the start of Feb where all previous bookings are wiped clean? Is Gus keeping him back for this reason?
If a player accumulates ten cautions between the opening day of the playing season and the second Sunday of April in the same season, he will be suspended automatically for two matches.
Well I would suggest if he is still injured that Gus brings him on in the last minute on Saturday so he can get booked for pulling someones shirt and then be suspended while he is still "out injured" - job sorted
That's what I thought, so now it's just a case of which games he is going to miss! More opportunities for Rodwell and Bridcutt.
And the annoying thing is that the vast majority of his bookings would not have been given to other players..
What makes it more obvious is that some of them were in the same game. It`s not just us though. Many`s the time we`ve seen players booked then somebody else does the same thing and gets away with it. Shocking inconsistencies.
Dunno pal I just copied and pasted that from a site. Reds are different I believe, so you'd get 3 games for a straight red then 4 next time and so on. Yellows x 2 then count as a red I believe so if he got a couple of yellows in your next game he'd essentially still be on 9 for the next game as they'd count as a red. Or that could all just be bollocks.
Easily by far and away the worst season for officials i've ever seen and thats accross the whole premiership, diabolical is a word that springs to mind Beats me how some od them can be so ****
I thought a straight red was seperate, so it would be the usual 3 game ban, and he'd still be on 9 for the yellow count? And if he gets two yellows he'd get the 2 games for reaching 10 + the standard 1 for two yellows = a 3 game ban? I think that's how it works anyway...
It`s a bit complicated Seems like the simplest way is, if he picks up a yellow, for Gus to haul him off.
If he gets a yellow he is better off waiting till the last minute and getting a second yellow. This would mean a one match ban!! Straight red is only the red card counts. Sad when you look at 3 or 4 of the yellows. Booked cos he's Cattermole and nothing else! None of them have been for reckless stuff either. No dirty challenges. Most of the deserved ones have been "take one for the team" yellows and nothing more. This is definitely right. Btw. Two yellows is one red and a one match ban. The first yellow does not count. One yellow is a two match ban Or basically what terry said
And he will make all the difference and prove how vital he is in the coming months...unless a certain ref. gets involved!!!
